These worked great for my girls. They have been wearing them well for about a week now, & the others haven't been bothered by them at all. Perfect solution! Highly recommend.
Our defeathered chicken was OK to have this put on but it took her about 15 min to get used to it; initially she kept checking it out and didn't quite know what to think of the thing on her back. We put it on in the afternoon. The next morning, she was her old self and I would suspect very happy to have a temporary feather replacement during the cold days and with her never tiring admirers Another day later she's running around with it as if it was always there. I am very grateful for this product. The Standard size is a perfect fit for our 8 months old Welsummer girl.
my silike has been wearing it with no problems
Well made, easy to put on, stands up to rooster mounting.
The saddles fit my chickens great! Be careful when pulling the snaps apart tho. I accidentally pulled too hard. But I'll be buying a couple more for my “favorited” hens
These saddles fit my Rhode Island Reds perfectly. Thanks for the great quality and the protection from our overly eager rooster.
Great! It was very easy to put on and our hen seems to be very comfortable in it. It's just what we needed!
My Roo caused a great injury to my hen that it took 3 weeks of isolation to heal. The chicken saddle was easy to put on hen. Thankfully Roo remembered her. And now they can be together and the worry that she may get injured is over! Great product and worth the cost !
Works great so far. My only concern is that my girls prefer to roost high. I'm unsure if it's a weight issue vs a design issue but since putting the saddle on them they rarely roost up high. Instead they roost on areas they can access by jumping instead of flying.
Here is what happened: I nabbed Golders because she was milling around my legs. I covered her head so she couldn't see what I was doing. Everything went great until I put her down on the ground and Brutus took a look, he started screeching, the other hens started running from her and she had no idea why. She would walk up to him and he would scream and take off! Bobby Gordan ran into the coop and hid. Little Foot made a noise I have never heard before. Trudy ran back and forth outside the aviary net freaked out clucking loudly. The whole time Golders was clueless. I took it off of her. Ugh. :expressionless: peace returned immediately. That's what my hens think about saddles. I gave up.
