The doors is one of Oliver Stone's great movies with an All-Star cast, and for the first time on 4K UHD with Oliver Stone supervised final cut version of the film, 4K picture and sound quality are outstanding especially compared to previous Blu-ray and DVD releases.. You can also count on WalMart to purchase it at a competitively great price 👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ OPEN THE DOORS
The Doors arrived in theaters during a time when I was listening to the music of the Doors, reading the poetry of James Douglas Morrison (Jim Morrison), and reading books recounting the stories of Jim and the band. As such, when I actually got to the theater, I could tell that some of what appeared on screen was, although true in spirit, not completely true to life. The Doors band members themselves were not entirely happy with the movie, feeling that Jim was made into a caricature and did not represent the man they once knew. This is nothing new. A biopic has to walk the line (did you see what I did there?) between what really happened and entertaining and audience, while simplifying the real people, turning them into characters we can relate to on screen. Real people are complicated, hypocritical, and contradictory. Characters in movies need to be consistent. With all that said, The Doors is a wildly entertaining movie with great performances throughout. It's the Doors and Jim Morrison as you want to see them—as legends. Much like how Bruce Lee is portrayed in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. Jim is shown as always medicated in some way throughout the runtime. It's a little excessive, but Val Kilmer brings an intensity, if not subtlety, to the performance. His charisma carries the move. The rest of the cast is great as well. The Doors: The Final Cut breaks on through to 4k UHD to make the myths once again on our big-screen 4k TVs and home theater screens. The transfer looks clean and colorful and black levels are inky. There is some fine grain in some scenes, especially establishing shots, which is to be expected. The audio is immersive . Although, I listened on cinema headphones, from all reports the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is stellar. The disc comes with both the theatrical and the final cut. All in all, The Doors: The Final Cut gets 5 out of 5 stars from me. Highly recommended!
"The Doors: The Final Cut" in 4K is a must-have for fans. The 4K restoration, supervised by Oliver Stone, brings stunning clarity and vibrant colors, making the film feel new. The Dolby Atmos audio upgrade immerses you in the music, enhancing the concert scenes and dialogue. This edition includes the Final Cut and Theatrical Cut and special features like interviews and deleted scenes. It's a fantastic upgrade that honors the band's legacy and Stone's vision, making it a worthy addition to any collection. If you love The Doors or biographical films, this 4K edition is worth the investment.
This movie is Oliver Stone's true triumph. Watching it is like being transported back to the 60s when these events were taking place. Val Kilmer is amazing as Jim Morrison, and the 4K experience is a trip to the other side.
A great bio-pic with a stellar cast! And now MORE Doors than you can handle! A director's cut with the original cut and tons of extras!
4k was awesome! We love the movie and the 4K transfer was great!
Was brand new , came with slipcover and packaged nice
This is a great movie that commemorates the short life of Jim Morrison. He was a great figure in the history of America and rock and roll. The actors did a great memorable experience within the confines of the movie. Oliver Stone directed this baby and in 4k is a great movie experience
Acting was spot on! Very good portrayal of Jim Morrison! Dark story though that just was to real. I don't advocate or like drug use so it was pretty hard to watch actually!
of course Val Kilmer was great in this movie; however, the movie was so disturbing that i didnt like it.
