The Doux Block Party Anti-Humidity Defining Gel 16 oz

It's thick, not runny at all, which I prefer. Mild scent. I saw multiple reviews saying it would last past a week without budging, and I must say that I agree. I'm writing this now with a week-old wash and go, and almost every strand still looks like day 1. Any frizzy ones are from me separating some clunks after the fact. This gel held up much better than others against nightly wrapping. With sweat, it held up maybe slightly better than others; my roots have softened but are still weirdly defined. No flakes at all, even though it's the most crunchy thing I've ever come across. I applied it in sections (wearing gloves to reduce friction) and used a diffuser to dry. Next time I'll take the extra step to really separate the hair after it's dry for some more volume.

I had seen this product on TikTok so I came to Walmart to purchase the item. At first I was skeptical to buy this because each review said it was part of a promotion and all were good reviews. Then one day I was back on TikTok looking up hair types and I saw this product again and the product looked amazing in the videos I saw so I decided to buy it. I'm so glad that I did. I really love this product. The block Party hair gel works so well for my curls. It makes my curls look amazing curls and it lasts. The gel does not leave my hair hard. My hair stays soft while using it. The product is not sticky on my hair nor is it heavy on my hair. It makes my hair shine. This gel works wonders on wavy hair and natural curls. The only downside for me with this gel and other products by The Doux is that their products are really overpriced. Overall, wonderful product.

I even went and bought the rest of the line and I’m excited to try more of their products especially for my foresee hair and my twist out usually only last 2 to 3 days with this product it gave me almost 2 weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This might’ve been the best gel that I have ever used on my hair. With other brands, gel leaves my hair super dry and crunchy with flakes but this defining gel has done the opposite and it smells really good. I will use this brand more often!!

This is by far the best gel I have ever used! I've been a natural for 14 years now. This is the first time I've ever been able to use one product for a wash and go. I cannot truly attest to the humidity because I live in Colorado and the humidity is low, but for me this product is perfect. It does not contain protein because I am protein, sensitive, and the fact that I can just use one product to hold my wash and go and the shine is amazing. Please do not change the ingredients. It is absolutely perfect. You will not be disappointed. I love it!

It has definitely worked its way into my weekly rotation. Smell is pleasant and I love the little flecks of glitter in the tub!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This gel is has really good hold. At times it can get flaky which I don’t like. There is glitter but I haven’t noticed it in my hair. The jar is cute and sturdy. I haven’t tried to wash it out yet but I don’t think it will be a problem. The picture is my third day applying so it is really hard and will definitely need washing tonight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the smell of this gel. It had an interesting, more liquid texture compared to the gels that I’m used to. I used it to add some definition to my braid-out. Honestly, I didn’t see much of a difference compared to my usual braid-out. It is possible I needed to use more product, but I used as much as I would use of any of my other gels, so it was a bit of a letdown. That said, it did still seem to work!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For my hair type, this product really was not effective. The reason for that is because I created flakes in my hair. I think that for others it would do good. It did hold my hair in the place. It just made it flaky and I did not like that.

HORRIBLE. The worst gel I’ve used in a long time. Left my hair sticky and provided zero definition. Do not under any condition attempt to use this get on its own like the instructions suggest. It NEEDS to be paired with something for it to define your hair at all
