The Dresden Files: The Complete First Season (DVD)

This is a fun show. A few episodes are a little rough around the edges - quick editing, as if there was way more show than they could fit in an hour. But overall the acting and feel is top notch. Now, I am open to media adaptations of books. If you love the books, as I do, and you DON'T tolerate change well, you will be a little disappointed. While they did keep a lot of things from the books, they did change quite a bit. The trademark jacket and car are gone. But they DO keep the character dynamics of most characters - Karrin, Morgan. Overall, if you can place this in an alternate reality version - it's a fun exploration and a great performance by Blackthorne.

I am happy to have the season's complete show as we watched The Dresden Files weekly when it was on tv and hope it will return. Definitely would purchase this set again.

My husband and I watched this series when it originally aired on SciFi and were really disgusted when they cancelled it. We are currently reading the books and thoroughly enjoying them also. Yes, the TV show is different from the books, but it's still a lot of fun in it's own right and I'm sorry that it is only one season.

The Dresden Files is one of those truly rare gems - an EXCELLENT TV show! With a perfect balance of suspense & humor, excellent acting, spectacular chemistry, and original story plots - It's a joy to watch over and over! I have recommended this show to everyone in my family and to all of my friends! Believe me, you'll love it too!!

I LOVED this show when it was on and was HEARTBROKEN when they took it off the air. I had every episode recorded on my dvr, and now I can finally delete them! I should have bought two of them so that I have another when the first set of CDs gets worn out! :)

This terrific show premiered on SciFi Channel this winter, inspired by the popular book series about a wizard who helps the Chicago police solve crimes. Imagine Harry Potter as an adult, now a reluctant hero constantly drawn into all sorts of supernatural mayhem: sexy vampires, restless ghosts, repentant demons, criminals using black magic, and villains who won't stay dead. And like young Mr. Potter, Harry Dresden has an uneasy relationship with an underground hierarchy of magicians, who help or interfere when and wherever they want. Anyone who loves Harry Potter will love it! Paul Blackthorne as Harry Dresden and Terrence Mann as his ghostly sidekick Bob, plus an outstanding supporting cast of characters, make this debut series really, really fun.

Quite possibly the best supernatural series the Sci-Fi Channel has ever put out since Farscape. This series has something for everyone from Wizards for moonlight as detectives providing a great storyline to things that go bump in the night. Everyone should check it out at least once. The series may start off a little slow, but you will soon find yourself hooked. And if tv series aren't your thing, check out the books by Jim Butcher they are just as intriging.

I absolutely recommend this show!! Faithful viewer every week and it has it all, sarcasm, romance, excitement, drama, magic!!! what else could you ask for?

Great series, subpar physical Case. The Dresden Files is a fantastic show and well worth the watch. However, the physical packaging is quite flimsy; mine arrived with a cracked case due to the low-quality plastic. Despite the cheap housing, I'm glad to have the series in my collection and highly recommend it to any fan.
