Skyrim on Steroids!

Burandon June 21, 2014

So I had never played any Elder Scrolls titles until this one, But I had seen the game-play and heard how addicting it was. All was true. This game looks amazing with Ultra settings. And even runs on my Amd-A6 laptop. (a 300 dollar laptop) The game boasts a free 30 day subscription but you have to drop a credit card or pay pal account.. Debit cards work too. You will see an initial charge on your card but that drops off. Whenever your 30 days drop though they don't even ask.. it just charges.. So if you're not expecting a subscription it comes as a surprise. Haven't had any issues with bugs. They've patch once a week, adding more content with each patch. This game is fantastic. However if you want to play with your friends.. You must choose the same faction. There are three factions. Its very important you make sure you're all on the same faction, your faction dictates where you start, level and eventually progress in the world. For instances if you wanted to get back to Skyrim you'd be on the Ebonheart Faction.. Depending on what version of the game you picked up.. You're limited to play certain Races with each faction. However I was able to get the Explorers pack thanks to Wal-Mart. This allows you to play any race on any faction! So a wood elf in the Ebonheart faction is possible! Another thing about this game, a Rogue can wear heavy armor or any armor or any weapon. So if you like to use 2 handed axes but you also want the stealth ability of a rogue it's possible! Enjoy.

Surprisingly good

Bloodlet77 July 2, 2014

I had read some early reviews about this game that weren't so great. I am glad I ignored them and got this for myself. I'm enjoying the game much more than I have any other mmos recently including Wildstar.

extremely fun !!

Jet9630 August 11, 2014

This mmorpg has all that is expected from a online game. Hard enough to keep the experiences challenging, but not to hard to have to leave you relying on group play. It is updated often to enable lots of changes so you never get bored of the same old thing.

Fantastic Game

m00s30803 May 4, 2014

This game is absolutely great in my opinion. From the gameplay all the way to character customization, everything is fantastic. There were a few problems when this game first launched, but that is to be expected with every new MMO. ESO launched relatively smooth compared to other MMOs. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a new MMO to play.

Fun, but Not Worth the Subscription

TheDraven July 22, 2014

The game was fun and I spent quite some time on it during my free 30 days of play. It had it's glitches and problems, but they are slowly being fixed. However, while the game is fun, I don't think it is worth the initial purchase plus the $15 a month subscription. If ESO would switch to BtP it would be a nice game.

Don't get this game if you have Broadband Internet

VictoriaBl June 8, 2014

This game will not work with a US Cellular Broadband internet connect. After working with the customer support department of ESO, it was determined that you have to have a "static" internet connection which is not listed as a requirement on the box. Due to the nature of the broadband internet connections, they all have rotating IP addresses. This causes the game to log you out every time the IP address rotates. For example, it might take you 5-20 times to log into the game, and every time you go through a door way or into another instance it disconnects you from the game. The game was total waste of money for me, and the only way I can use it is to go to a friends house and set up my computer. Aggravating to say the least. If you can get the game to work, it can be fun. But beware if you have broadband internet, it is going to give you all kinds of trouble.

TV ads cant fix the flow of retreating customers.

Bravo872 April 23, 2014

In the interest of full disclosure I should point out that I am no longer able to Log in to ESO. If your looking for, a Skyrim sequel, an elder scrolls multiplayer, a better feel than SWTOR, this unfortunately isnt it. It all started like any other MMO, lots of down time, bugs, and many many patches. Problem is that it did not get better and its growing pains only seemed to worsen. Patches to fix one problem would just cause more issues. The guild banks had to be taken down, long log in times became login time out errors. New content and TV ads cant seem to fix the flow of retreating customers.

Tedious Questing, Slow Slog, Lacks Excitement

writewurds November 8, 2014

While the combat is moderate to good, the amount of traveling back and forth while questing is a tedious grind. The resource gathering and crafting are anemic as well. Play it with a tight knit group of friends and it might reveal more signs of excitement. I'm not looking for pre 6.0 WoW easy, but this is worse than a lot of the 2004 cutting edge sandbox games when it comes to surviveability while questing and exploring. Also, don't buy if you easily get bored with reading up on lore and following a story line while interacting with npcs.
