a great new classic
We got this movie for our two boys, age 4 and 2. They sat still as stones through the whole thing, and begged to watch it again and again (five times!). The message (that families are people who love you, not just people related to you) is great. The movie is humorous and heart-warming. The one or two "grown-up" jokes are over kids' heads, so you don't have to worry about inappropriateness. Do yourself a favor and watch this with your kids. You'll be glad you did.

Very cute/may not be for all though
My 4 yr old daughter and I love watching this movie, it's really cute. However it reminds me a lot of a separated family, the movie's based around a boy wanting to know who his dad is and once he finds him they touch base on shared custody. My husbands not a fan of the movie but I do like it and bought a few as xmas gifts.

Fun for anytime of the year
I had purchased this video at Christmas time to keep at our home for our Grandchildren ages 4 & 2 to watch over the holiday season. For our Grandson's 5th birthday this Spring he asked for a copy of this movie for his own home he liked it so much! His birthday wish was granted.

Horrible Christmas movie
This is a horrible movie for children. The reindeer searches for his father. Apparently, Santa's reindeer all have one night stands. Therefore, none of them want to admit to being his father. When he does discover who his father is, his dad does not want to take responsibility. There are also times when the deer are sitting around a tavern drinking. It doesn't actually state what they are drinking and that is something I could overlook. When you have a baby deer asking for his father to come with him, and he refuses how does that really look to children watching what they thought was a happy family X-mas movie. I know this is reality to many of us, but I really don't want my 3 year old asking why the daddy deer will not stay.
