I saw ‘The Florida Project' when it first was released and I was incredibly moved. The acting the professionals (Willem Dafoe) and the unprofessional actors did a marvelous and moving job in portraying a lifestyle on the screen that most people don't see or are intentionally trying to ignore. ‘The Florida Project' is better than its director's predecessor ‘Tangerine' and much better than the follow-up, ‘Red Rocket. Director Sean Baker has somehow created his own genre of filmmaking. I call it American-Neorealism, and it echoes the films that came out of Italy before during and after World War. His films are in a class with the 2008 films ‘Wendy and Lucy' as well as ‘Frozen River' ‘Boyhood' ,as well film's such as ‘Nomadland'
very true to life. happy and sad. hopeful and hopeless. a must see. unforgettable.
This movie is a gut wrenching but phenomenal look at the blissful ignorance of children while living in subpar conditions.
Excellent transaction! The BluRay even came with it's slipcover, I love it! Thank you very much!
Great movie with great picture quality
A great film to have in your collection if you are a fan of independent cinema and a great price.
When Walt Disney was planning Disney World in Orlando he called it the Florida Project. A string of motels flourished along a strip of highway near there but are now budget places with a lot of permanent residences. The story is about a mother and daughter who live there.
For most of the time, it's a slow-paced film, definitely not for everyone, but its power is in emotions and perception of the world through children's eyes. Because of the subject, little children should not watch it. Without spoiling anything, even the ending is a symbolic representation of children's dreams. Sadly, reality around them often forces them to grow up much faster than they should. I hope the movie will help poor families and will help us to open ourselves to help them, and also to help our own families in the process. I believe that is the director's wish as well.
Came in good condition. Would recommend!
