My 7 yr. old daughter got this for her birthday. It is so much fun! Even my 5 yr old son loves to play it even though he needs a little help. Make sure you read the quick directions along with the long detailed directions. I found some information on how to play in the quick directions that were not found in the long ones. There is a lot of detail to it but to cut down on the "stuff" that each person gets, we didn't use the scorecards, arrows or the reference cards for each person. It has some of the old spaces, like getting married, having babies, picking a career but also has new and interesting things to do too. The best spot they like to land on is the Lottery! We have played for hours at a time. It just doesn't get old! One of the best games we have played for a long time!
I really liked this game! I think it is about time that made a new life game to go with the times. I am not sure what happened with the directions in the other persons game, but i had directions in mine in detail and then also the quick version. They have cards that go into detail what you do on each move. My Husband and myself played with a 15 year old and a 7 year old and we had fun. I believe its a definite must buy
I like the game, but I ordered 2 in order to keep one and give the other to my son. They were both obviously used, which wasn't mentioned on the listing. One game worked perfectly, but the pod on the second game only recognized 3 of the 4 "debit cards" and one of those was reading as a duplicate of the number 1 card, so only 2 people could actually play the game at a time. If I could review the games separately, I would give the first one 5 stars, but since the second one was majorly defective, I am only giving 3 stars. I do love playing this game though as the debit cards and electronic pod give it a more modern spin on an old fashioned game that I grew up playing.
I would recommend this to someone, but only after the price drops quite a bit. I've played a lot more fun games than this for a cheaper price. You see, it's fun the first 1-2 times, but then it's not the same. It's almost like the computer does everything for you, and so you just move around the board and earn money and life points...without any big decisions to make it fun. The electronic device keeps all your life points and money, so it gets to a point where you don't even pay attention to it because you don't know how it's basing its calcuations. I'd recommend it to someone, but it's not really worth the price paid. My little 3 year old likes to play, and I think all kids would love it. But for adults, I'd pass.
it was very pre-used. I was expecting at least like-new quality.
Seller does not respond. Product was used, broken and had missing parts. The inside of the box had kids scribbles all inside with missing playing pieces and the electronic spinner was discolored with age and did not work. I have tried to get a response from the seller with no avail.
It came used and didn't work. The seller did not respond at all. Walmart took it back. Do NOT buy from this seller.
Game was advertised as new, but clearly was used. Missing pieces, box was marked, inside frame was dented, and the electronic pod had old batteries in it that had exploded. I returned game to Walmart store, with the clerk confirming that the condition was not acceptable, and the return was issued. Then the seller rejected the return claiming that I had not returned the item indicated. Walmart was very helpful in reissuing a refund.
After reading other reviews I was no longer surprised at the condition of my order. No where did it state the item was used or in bad condition. They are over charging for the condition of the items they are selling. It arrived on time is about the only good thing I can say about the experience and that Walmart allowed me to return it to my local store. The box literally had a rubber band around it to hold it together. I ordered the Game of Life Twists and Turns, the electronic device doesn't even work which is literally required to play the game. Tried over 10 batteries while testing them in other devices (they worked fine in other devices just not for life).
Don't buy this trash ... batteries leaking and some the games are not new as mentioned!
