Do your research if you don't know Baz or F.Scott
I'm sharing my review as a promo, but the opinion is genuine. Considering F. Scott released TGB 99 years ago, and the fact that the movie is over a decade old, I'd assume the average viewer has some understanding of The Great Gatsby. It's practically idiotic of me to review a 12 year old movie, but I will gladly offer my opinion. It's fast tempo-music driven love story, true to the novel, and so very much over the top at every corner. Every second feels like it's almost a carnival ride or a bizarre circus. Simply, it's filled with more pomp and circumstance. I like to have a few drinks to this movie and slip away for a few hours into a fantasy world. That is why I find this movie tangled in the genre of "Escapism" but I enjoyed it in my 20's and I'm enjoying it in my 30's. So watch it.

Good movie and a nice 4k!
Very nice film. It is stylized, but if you're into that type of thing it is excellent. It's a very nice 4K transfer as well.

Sumptuous version by Baz Luhrman with superb casti
Sumptuous version by Baz Luhrman with superb casting; homage to the earlier Jack Clayton directed version with the usual Luhrman flourishes that serve the work wonderfully; NOTE: Walmart sourced disc plastic jewel case was damaged upon receipt although both discs were intact
