The Greatest Showman (Blu-ray)

I have to admit I am somewhat cynical when Hollywood tries to create biopics as the creative license they take often irritates me in how it deviates so far from the truth (and source material). However, in "The Greatest Showman" the movie doesn't even pretend to be a biopic. There is no disclaimer in the credits or summary at the end to outline what happens after the movie source ends. It is very unpretentiously not even close to following PT Barnum, readily glossing over some his controversial characteristics, but rather is a rousing dance/musical that is thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining - if you check your ego at the door. My whole family (including a 4 and 6 year old) enjoyed it so much we promptly downloaded the album off iTunes have listened to it for 2 days straight. It has one of the longest "staying power" of any modern movie and has spawned "sing alongs" in theatres. I understand why many people went to repeat viewings. To support it I bought the UHD version to view with my family again. Enjoy the movie for what it is, and expect it to come to Broadway as it should.
