The Jackhammer Ultimate Hoofpick, 8"

They are by far the best horse hoof picks.

Recently had plastic shoes put on a horse with severe ringbone -- horse loves the shoes but they are very difficult to clean because of the shape. In fact, I could not clean them at all with a regular pick and had to call my farrier to come do it. Went hunting for a better hoof pick and found this one. This pick is fantastic -- much stronger with a sharper point so it is easy to lift packed dirt out, often in one scoop, instead of struggling with a regular pick to get the feet really clean. I have some arthritis in my hands and don't have the hand strength i once did, so it was a relief to find out that these picks don't require brute strength -- the pick does most of the work for you. I threw out all the other picks in the barn and ordered a bunch of these and also gave some to girlfriends with horses to try.

When I first saw this I thought it was a "little extra." Then I actually used one and said I'd like to get one for myself! It's really such an awesome hoofpick. I have several of the plain ones and the ones with a brush, and an Oster one. But this one is a cut above... Comfortable handle and the pick is so nicely angled it makes picking out horse after horse during turnout changes soooo much easier. Certainly recommend.

My old hoof pick was getting dull and it was taking me a while to pick out my horse's feet so I decided to try this one. I got the junior and it's the right size. I have cut myself a few times using it though. My horse is barefoot, and it slipped off her hoof, cutting my hand. I guess I was used to using the dull hoof pick, and I've gotten more careful. Over time, the sharp corners have rounded out a bit, so it's gotten a little safer. So overall, I am pleased with it and recommend it. I thought I would miss having a brush on the back, but I haven't really needed one.

We've had numerous hoofpicks around the barn that bend when you use them. This hoofpick is solid and sturdy and will not let you down. We ordered the Junior size which is just the right size for women's hands. If you wear women's gloves size 8 or 9, the Junior size is perfect for picking.

I have been thinking about purchasing this hoofpick for years. In my mind, my cheap ones did the job just fine and it was silly to "spluge" on a different hoofpick. After the first round of iceballs in the horses' feet this year, I finally caved. Makes nightly hoofpicking for all the boarders much faster with a hoofpick that doesn't easily bend. I prefer the junior size, but either will get the job done!

I bought the Ultimate Hoofpick for my warmblood that got deep ice packs in his hooves during the winter and it was the only hoof pick that could remove those solid packs. But it was too big and sharp for my minis hooves so when they started to have the same problems, I was happy to know that they make a junior size Ultimate Hoofpick. It works just as well on my minis now as the large one did for my warmblood. Works better than any other hoof pick and I've tried many

I've been using the same one of these for about four years, and it's still going strong! The only reason I'm buying another is that I'm traveling to more clients' barns these days and want to keep one at home and one in my truck. I have relatively large hands, but I would still recommend the "Junior" version - it's the same size as one of the generic brushy ones, but with a grip that really fits the hand. The "Ultimate" is actually weirdly large, and, having used one for the first time at another barn the other day, it's pretty hard to hang on to. I never actually use the brush on the other ones, so I don't miss not having one! This is a tool you'll use literally every time you ride - don't cheap out!

I just got mine, nicely made, I wish they offered the choice to pick your color, I know it's only a hoofpick but I hate pink with a passion and I thought it was coming in the yellow which looks sharp.

This is a good hoof pick, and sharp. Excellent at cleaning out everything from hooves. HOWEVER, the ONE time I let someone borrow it it broke (she was just picking hooves out like a regular person). Just like that, bye bye expensive hoof pick. I've been around a long time and I've never broken a hoof pick in my life, so beware: It's a great hoof pick, until it breaks one day.
