Let down at first but then you come around

Link July 20, 2023

Awesome game kinda has a breath of the wild 2 thing going on but if this where dlc it would be way too much so it I would see no choice but to release tears of the kingdom again awesome game once you get past the fact that it feels like a clone of botw

Phoenomenal game

BloodyFatality July 19, 2023

This game is absolutely incredible. If you loved Breath of the Wild you're in for a treat. The world is changed and is vastly different from before with all new areas and caves to explore. You also get a whole new world in the sky and underground to explore. There is so much content it's unbelievable.

The pre-order wall scroll seems to be a Walmart exclusive, so that's a bonus. For this particular purchase otherwise, I doubt there would've been much difference in buying it anywhere else, but Walmart ensured I got it exactly on release date in perfect condition, so I can't complain.

The app kept me up to date on delivery and other shipping information, which was nice. And as soon as it arrived I was able to check the app and see that it was delivered, which was great! The product was in pristine condition and I wouldn't be able to tell it had been delivered in the back of a truck, it looked like it had been delivered to me on a silk pillow wrapped in protective fluffy clouds.

Great game! Enjoy it!

More expensive than previous games but totally worth it. It includes more exploration and collecting than breath of the wild. I'm happy to see the growth of the characters I like in BOTW. Sometimes the decryption idea is totally different from that of BOTW. I think whether you have played BOTW, you will enjoy the game! (But I'm a little scared of some new scenes and monsters.)

The wall scroll was noted as “while supplies last” and this is a high demand item so I almost didn't expect to receive one, and I'm glad I did. The order arrived early on the day of the game's release. The only thing I'm unhappy about is the price being higher than most Nintendo switch games, but the wall scroll makes up for it because it is surprisingly high quality.

Tears of the Kingdom was worth the wait

Thundertron55 July 20, 2023

Tears of the Kingdom is a great follow up to Breath of the Wild that gets a lot of things right, but stumbles on a few things. The world is just as exciting to explore as in it's predecessor and the added Sky Islands and the Depths, an entire mirror version of the overworld, increases the games expansiveness 10-fold. All of the new music is well done with a few of my favorites being the Temple of Time theme, Skyview Tower Launch, Flux Construct, and the Prologue theme. All of Link's new abilities are fun to use and the puzzles in the Shrines made for them are top notch. Ultrahand is a particular favorite, as it allows you to build just about anything with whatever is lying around. The places it stumbles is in it's dungeons and continuity with Breath of the Wild and the Zelda series in general. While the theming, music, and bosses are massive improvements over the Divine Beasts, they are essentially just Divine Beasts again. Being that you have to activate 5 things and then fight the boss. Then there is the continuity with BotW. Very few people remember what happened in the previous game, and it is kind of treated as if it didn't happen at all or it happened 100 years ago. The two biggest flaws are the lack of any Shiekah tech (Shrines, Towers, Guardians, Divine Beasts, the Shiekah Slate, the Shrine of Resurrection, and all Guardian/Ancient Weapons (except the arrow heads of the Ancient Arrows)), and the fact that no one from Hateno Village remembers who Link is. In Breath of the Wild there was a side quest called Hylian Homeowner where you could buy a house in Hateno Village. That led to a side quest where you could build up a town called Tarrey Town. Tarrey Town exists in TotK but the house was never yours (it's now Zelda's) and the person you bought the house from doesn't know who you are yet everyone in Tarrey Town does. And then there's the main story itself. As a stand alone story it is really good and better than Breath of the Wild's. But as it's sequel and as a game in the greater Zelda series, it does not work at all. I will not go into any specifics, but the game's story and lore is not at all compatible with previous entries. It may be nitpicking but when you care about the story and lore of this world it really bugs me. As for performance, while there were a few heavy frame drops in the tutorial area, I never really had any performance issues on my day 1 Switch. The only times the game will slow down is if you are moving to fast. And if you do start to have performance issues, outside of speeding, just give your Switch a quick reboot and it will be fixed. Overall the game is fantastic and easily one of my favorite games from the past few years. If you've been on the fence because of all the "it's glorified DLC" you can rest easy that it is its own thing entirely. Tears of the Kingdom makes Breath of the Wild look like a tech demo. I highly recommend this game for everyone to enjoy.

It was a gift so I haven't used it, but it seemed to be in good condition, new and unopened, and presumably in working order. It was the same price as other retailers.

I have yet to receive this item, i can't know for sure until it arrives. I find it disappointing that i also entered a physical location in Puerto Rico and the employees themselves were bummed nothing was done for the arrival of the game, and the only thing that arrived was the game ... no other merchandise at all. They said that sadly Walmart doesn't do special things for Puerto Rico like a launch day event, pointing out to only purchase online but the online navigation experience is bad, the product usually is not available since they end in mere seconds, and they mark items as available until you enter the product page and see it isn't

How am I supposed to give anything more than 1 star when it hasn't arrived yet. I recall one other time I had a preorder come late with a different major store. It was scheduled for Friday but didn't arrive until Saturday, not Monday. I was made aware of this on Thursday, not Friday. Unlike your representatives, they took care of me and fixed the issues with delivery for me instead of making it my problem to call Fedex and even offered me a $5 off coupon on my next purchase. While upset I my package was coming late I at least received a real apology in the form of better service to make up for the mistake. None of your representatives offered to do anything to resolve this issue for me.
