The Lego Ideas Book: Unlock Your Imagination (Hardcover)

My kids--ages 9 and 12 love this book. It has taught them more about the technique of Lego building. It teaches them how to use the pieces they ALREADY have to build new things. That makes me glad because new sets are so expensive. I disagree with the negative reviews. The point of the book is to teach them how to use pieces in different ways. If the book gave step by step instructions it would be no different than what happens when they get a new set---they follow the instructions and then don't know what else to do with the Legos. They have built so many more original creations since reading this book.

This book was purchased as a gift for my nephew. It is full of ideas to create many projects. He loves it! Great purchase and price

This book had a lot of great creative ideas for my children to try.

This book has great pictures and instructions for my little ones to follow. I can't wait to gift it this Christmas. It seems like it will keep them engaged for a long time.

My seven year old son is obssessed with Legos. I thought this book would be a great addition to his collection. He LOVES it and has spent many hrs looking through it. I was a little dissapointed that it did not have directions on how to build the ideas that were given. However, my son is very smart and has figured most of it out by using the pictures. Overall it was a good buy!

Everything in here uses TONS of specialized pieces. They are not the step by step instructions like you get when you buy little lego kits, either. This is NOT for a beginner builder. Because it needs so many special pieces and does not have directions, I was hesitant to give it to the 7 year old boy... but he absolutely LOVES it. At his birthday party, he neglected to actually eat any of his birthday cake as he was too busy reading this book. :) I don't think he has actually tried to build anything from it, but he takes it with him everywhere he goes.

This book does NOT include step-by-step instructions. I returned book because of this. As title suggests, it's only an “ideas” book for advanced LEGO users. I do not recommend it for young children.

VERY ADVANCED book. Was looking for a book for a younger lego starter. There wasn't a lot of information of an age group or what was between the covers.
