I love this movie ! I loved it in theaters so I had to buy it on DVD too . I've actually read this book but because it really didn't leave that much of an impression on me , I've forgotten what it was about . When I went to go see this movie , I was very worried about being lost in the story line but guess what ? No previous book reading was even necessary ! I loved the action , the characters , and the story line . Sometimes the story did seem to go a little fast but it wasn't enough to ruin the movie for me . I would definitely recommend this to all my friends ! Actually , I already have !

Loved this movie, read the books but loved the movie more, because it condensed a lot of what was in the book and it was more realistic compared to the books.

Must see

I cant wait for them to make the other book series that follow this movie. But the book always has more info. But watching it gives it that icing on the cake to see if it is like the book and if you imagined it that way. I can watch this movie over and over. At the end you wonder......are they really brother and sister? Does the mom wake up? Makes you read the book. Then you'll know the answer. I do. Try it. Its worth a shot.

Good movie will read the books

This book series is great! So expected the movie to be better. The movie director wanted the characters to be "stiff" which was especially true with Jace. Between the movies poor direction, poor editing and obvious miscasting, it was a real disappointment. The movie was true to the book which also might have been a problem. The set of the sanctuary where the Shadowhunters live and the visual effects were the highlights of the movie. Hope the second one will be better. This is not the worse movie I have seen this year but it really lacked the punch of the book.
