The Natural (DVD)

This is the copy I was looking for as I received prior to this from Amazon the director's cut and it's not as good as this copy I got from Walmart thank you! I'm glad you had it I will enjoy it for many years.

Tremendous acting, and storyline. Redford is the absolute BEST!!!🩵💙

A natural and quite gifted baseball player.. 2.Redford's character is based on the real life of  Eddie Waitkus , a first baseman  of the Chicago Cubs,  who in 1949 was traded to the Phillies. 3.“The Natural” takes place nearly 20 years earier than the actual event. Thats because the movie "The Natural” was actually set in an earlier time period... of  the 1930s. 4.A very young Ruth Ann Steinhagen was only 19 years old when she had developed a crush on the first baseman Eddie Waitkus of the Chicago Cubs. As the movie depicks  in 1949 Steinhagen invited the player to her hotel room. Barbara Hershey plays the role of Ruth Ann Steinhagen who in real life lived till 83. 5.In 1952, author Bernard Malamud was inspired to write a book about this dramatic crime that impacted these peoples lives.. The original “Natural” baseball player Eddie Waitkus,  passed away in 1972  ..before the film was made. He played Major League Baseball and had an 11-year career . Heartgripping touching scenes. Complicated ,tender and forgiving there is  a lot of each in The Natural. Just like baseball ...

Great movie - good old American baseball in its prime....before it was ruined by pompous convicts playing the game.
