Excellent lightweight raincoat. The hood is adjustable and that helps keep your hair dry and is comfortable. The wrists are elastic and might be too tight for larger wrists. I ordered a size L. I'm 5'6" and 150 lbs and it fits great if that helps you judge
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this jacket! It's lightweight and the pink color is feminine! The higher placement of the pockets do not bother me as other reviewers have mentioned, but I am short. It could fit me a little better, but overall was ok for the price. I am 5 foot, 92lbs, petite. The North Face typically runs bigger on me and this fit pretty well. I have Not worn in rain but great for morning hikes!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm usually between sizes S and M, and I initially bought a Medium, but it ended up too loose with sleeves being much too long, so I exchanged for a Small and it fits nicely, a little bit more form fitting. Love the green color. For reference, I'm 5'5'', average build female, 128lbs. Would recommend!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very pleased with this jacket. It has a nice fit. I find some of The North Face jackets to run small and short, but this one fits me very well! I'm 5'7", 150lbs with broad shoulders and a medium fit me well! I can fit a jacket under it when needed, but it doesn't look too loose by itself, too! I wore it in heavy rain and I stayed dry and warm!
Pros: Color/Cedar, gorgeous. Fit: large because I like to layer; normally take a medium. Quality: appeared to be excellent & trusted in the waterproof description; Cons: Outside Pockets: didn't love the slanted pockets but could work with them; definitely want large interior pockets, not available in this jacket. Hood: good coverage in case of rain/wind but want one that folds under the collar. Returned this jacket and will keep looking for one that satisfies my requirements; hopefully from NorthFace.
Mostly wear it for rainy commutes / in the fall and spring seasons layered with a hoodie underneath. The sleeves feel short and the hood is tiny (can barely fit a sweater hood or headphones without it feeling tight). For reference, I got an XL and I'm 5'8 and 165 lbs. If i could choose again, I would buy the men's version instead.
So, it works in that it keeps the rain out. It fits well and as expected. It's hot though. Like OMG...you're sweating the moment you put it on. I get why it needs to be a fabric that doesn't breathe because doing so would likely compromise the purpose of the jacket which is to keep the rain out but it becomes uncomfortable very quickly after putting it on. Not sure I could do a day in this jacket but to walk a few blocks from parking to my office, it works well and looks good.
arms are so short! the fit is very boxy. the actual coat is great and made well though, I dont usually have an issue with arms, doesn't matter how rainproof or waterproof for 2 inches of my forearms :(
I bought this jacket as a light jacket to wear for softball. I've worn it once and hated it. I had a previous north face rain jacket that I loved, that was an older version of this jacket, but the interior coating was starting to desinagrate. After wearing this during one inning I was sweating and uncomfortable within 5 minutes of wearing it in 20° weather. No breathability at all. I took it off and just got wet instead. Also the pockets are in a terrible spot and on a very odd angle to get anything in or out. It was waterproof that's the only reason I gave a second star.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let's start with a positive: this jacket was warm!! I loved the color but really did not like the fit so I ended up returning it. It was narrow in the shoulders which made it uncomfy to move around/the sleeves would come up if I did. Even though the shoulders were narrow it still came out at the hips giving me a sort of triangle shape. I bought a size medium for more room (I have a size small in my other raincoat) and I would've had to size up to have more comfort in the shoulders. The biggest reason why I returned it is because of the hood. It was way too small! It fit just around and over my head but if I had actually worn it in the rain my face, the front of my hair, and any glasses would have gotten soaked!! Most other raincoats have bigger hoods and a little brim to keep the rain from getting in your eyes. If you want to actually have coverage, be comfy, and stay dry I would not recommend this product.
