Very beautiful, sweet little dish. I have ordered before reading the feedback to learn that this is a fairly small colander. However it says on the listing that it is only 8.25" wide. Just I didn't read it. Still it can hold quite an amount of blueberries, strawberries, currant, gooseberries, cherries, even grapes and plums - and this are the type of fruits I want to wash and than put on the table. This handy little strainer will let the dripping water through. This was the purpose - wasn't it? If I want to wash and drain apples, peaches, pears, I will keep wiping them dry(ish) as I did before.
I have bought so many!!! Given them as birthday, wedding shower and Mothers Day gifts. I packaged grapes and strawberries and blueberries with some. What else could you buy that is so sweet for under $15? Loved by every recipient ! I now have a stash for quick gifts. Promotes healthy eating too!!!
The price is what attracted me to the colander at first. I like to purchase grapes, wash, and set on the counter for my family to enjoy as they walk by the counter. The colander is just the right size for that and looks so pretty sitting on my counter. Since it is a colander it make the process of washing easy, the saucer with it keeps the water contained and away from the fruit. Just an awesome idea for serving fruits that need washing before the family eats.
I bought all her colanders for my plants and her cup and saucer planters for my deck and living room flower stands everyone compliments on them like better then regular flower pots will buy the berry colanders next to plant more flowers in all my rooms
I have two of these, one blue and the other white. I use them all the time. It holds a lot of grapes or cherries that you clean before eating. You could use the little dish alone to use with the fruit or any other thing you may like. Just such a cute set. I highly recommend this.
I just love these colander and bowl. The colors are bright and very well made. I put my fruit in the colunder and tomatoes in the bowl and keep them on the counter. The only negative remark would be they are a lot bigger than I thought they would be.
I do wish the colors had been as vibrant as depicted on the website photos - the turquoise is pretty washed out. And it's certainly not anywhere close to a 4-quart colander. But, I like it well enough to keep and once I get over the disappointment of duller colors, I'm sure I will love it.
I really like this product and the concept. I now own two. This is the bigger of the two; however, it is still very small. It barely holds a box of noodles. I wish it was a bit larger. But overall I love the product. I love the design, the colors and having that beautiful plate to transport items from the sink to the counter without a mess is fabulous.
The colander is gorgeous however it states that its 5qt but it sure doesnt look like it would hold that much. Its on the small size. Looking at it I cant imagine it can hold 2 qts if that much. Sending it back as I have a large family and need a larger looking colander
This was described as a 5 quart strainer. It is TINY. It might have the capacity to hold a couple handfuls of grapes. It is no where close to a 5 quart capacity strainer. Do not buy this if you are looking for a full size strainer like you would use to drain pasta or potatoes. It's really cute but basically useless unless you want to rinse a small pint of blueberries.
