The Real Ghostbusters, Volume 1 [DVD]

I loved this show when I was a kid, and I still do today! Great to show to my own kids. Each disc has 2-3 hours of material and an episode guide is included in the set. A great find!

This is a fantastically packaged and well produced DVD set! I am completely thrilled to own a cornerstone of my youth on DVD. Finally rewatching some of these classic episodes reminded me how wonderful this show was and how well produced it was. It really conveyed a maturity and depth that so many cartoons of the 80s lacked. True, not all the episodes are winners, and it still displayed some familiar 80s TV formulations. However, this show was able to take those formulations and completely infuse a sense of terror, humor, emotion, and fun that I think hasn't been matched since. Every episode explores a facet of supernatural fiction and offers great science fiction entertainment filtered through Saturday morning sensibilities. It's definitely an all ages type show as older viewers can enjoy some of the sly characterizations of the four ghostbusters and the some of the spine tingling narratives. Also what impresses a fan of animation as myself is the sheer quality of the Asian animation. The overseas animating companies did a bang up job on some key episodes and the liveliness and vitality of the character and effects animation is really something to be hold. Again, this is not on every episode but it is noticeable from time to time. Honestly, as a fan of 80s cartoons this one truly is of a level that towers over the other "much loved" 80s properties and I'm happy to see it get the treatment it deserves!

This was an awesome find. I remember this show and loved it growing up. And 30 episodes for $20! Come on you can't get that anywhere these days! Everything is double that most often then not. Great tin Packaging and an instant classic. The picture looks pretty good for being an older dvd, but in my ps3 everything looks pretty good. You won't be dissapointed!

I've watched all these cartoons growing up and know have my kid watching with me. I miss those days with the good cartoons on while I chowed on some cereal.

One of the best animated series ever. Classic 80's. Good value for $20 bucks. Been a fan since I was a kid.

This Series is worth owning. Just like watching it when it first came out.

great movie selection, now we don't have to wait for the video store to get them in.
