Very pricey for half a loaf of Italian bread, but it is very high-quality and it is delicious and it's a good strong sandwich bread even if you have a kind of moist filling so you know it is worth it, but it really should be like a dollar cheaper anyway thank you
To all the uninformed complainers thinking this is "half a loaf" of bread...A loaf of bread traditionally weighs 1 pound (16oz, for those of you playing at home). Which is the weight of a loaf of this bread. In addition, the slices themselves are about a slice and a half of traditional loaf bread. Holds up beautifully to a "wet" sandwich filling. And last but not least, it's delicious, toasts beautifully and has NO SUGAR.
Well here we really have a winner. The European taste is here, slightly thicker and wider slices. I cut a slice in half and toast it a bit. Some Wal-Mart vegetable cream cheese spread and a thin slice or two of their black forest ham and your taste buds are delighted. Very satisfying to the taste. In all honesty, this is a quality bread, great texture and most delicious. You won't be disappointed!
It is a bit pricey compared to regular bread, but then, artisan bread always is. And it is definitively worth the price. Nice, firm texture. Excellent for toasting. Great flavor. Nice with sweet or savory or for soup/sauce dunking. I keep it in the fridge and either toast it or give it a minute to get the chill out.
Now I know this bread loaf is a bit pricey for just a half a loaf … But I spoiled myself once in awhile because I cannot always make it to our Aldis Market which sells a similar type of bread which has a different name and I can't always Make it to the Military Commissary to get with all that said . This type of bread My mom got me hooked on as a kid It is a good hearty bread One that she used to get was called is ( a woodsmen bread) it have about 7 grains in it . Anyway I love the taste texture and variety of ways you can eat it with any meal . I personally will take a slice and half that slice and either toast it or eat it untoasted with a lil honey butter or my favorite jelly or jam on it for breakfast or a snack . Will make a sandwich with turkey or ham etc. or add butter to a slice and eat it with a warm hearty soup or stew ! Yes I recommend it especially if you love a good loaf of bread but want to be mindful of health a bit
The Rustik Oven Pane Italiano bread is the best store bought bread I've found. The taste and texture are great and each slice is big enough for one sammich if you halve the slice so it really doesn't cost much more than other breads on the shelf. I definitely recommend this bread for sammiches but it's also great by itself with some quality butter spread on it.
My mother's family is Italian. I grew up eating home baked Italian bread. This bread is the closest in taste and texture to the bread I remember. It makes wonderful sandwiches, garlic bread, cheese toast, and to get the last drop of spaghetti sauce off of the plate. Yummmmm!
Completely unsanitary!! I was disgusted when I opened the bag up to find a big chunk of bread had been torn off the side of this loaf. It looks like someone opened the bread, ripped a section off, and closed it back up again. I can't believe anyone would think it's ok to sell bread in this condition. The loaf was delivered to my door via Walmart Plus, along with several other items from Waynesboro PA store.
Oh the Good Ol' Days when A 🥖🍞Loaf of bread was a "Full Loaf of Bread". I just picked up my groceries %26 my 1/2 loaf of Rustik Brand bread from the Neighborhood Walmart in Albuquerque, NM has shrunk again. No, I don't think the store shopper helped herself to half my loaf of bread, but then again there are only 7 slices, count them 7 slices of bread in the half empty wrapper. Is this price gouging %26 Product shrinkage COMBINED at it's finest? If the bakery sells me 1/2 a loaf of bread @full price they can still sell the other 1/2 a loaf of bread @full price again, so in effect they are making double the money by halfing the loaf %26 selling it twice. What a racket. I hadn't seen such a blatant example of Grocer Product Shrinkage @ Full price more until today. Walmart, I truly feel for the folks out there who are struggling to put food on the table because of rising food prices %26 product shrinkage such as this. Shame on Big Corporation Grocery Chains.
Very dense and almost doughy.. Doesn't even smell good. I usually buy the Freshness Guaranteed Sliced Italian Bread, but I thought I would step it up a bit. Well it's going back! I Often I buy Turano Pane bread at Aldi's. 100% better overall when I'm able to go to Aldi.
