The movie arrived in perfect condition. The movie is great, and maybe one that not many have seen. A woman who has been held captive by Native Americans for years after her family was killed is found. She now has a son, and the father is not willing to let someone else have the boy. The stalking begins, with horrific results. Grab this psychological suspense wrapped in a western,
If you appreciate Gregory Peck acting, get this one. Beautiful cinematography. Story is violent but not graphic. Old west adventure.

This is one fine story, gritty, well acted and produced. Peck is at his finest, Robert Forester nearly steals the show with his portrayal as an Indian scout and Peck's friend. Eva Marie Saint put a lot of work in her character and is appreciated that she kept that roll without glamour makeup. The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat right up to the end -- and things jump out and go "boo" in the night. Get ready for a western story with beautiful "hypnotic landscapes" and realism. If you wonder who the cavalry officer is he's James Olson, uncredited. When the liner notes say, "The siege is relentless. The terror grows", it means what it says! Western fans, it's a 1968 winner that may have been a sleeper but you won't be disappointed. I had a copy from TV on tape but this DVD is Widescreen! Don't look for theater quality surround, just get the movie, get caught up in it and don't leave 'til it's over. You won't want to miss a moment of it. Buy it!
I love Gregory Peck to start with. I think I am his biggest fan. This is a wonderful Western and I just love the music when it is just starting. It is so pretty and relaxing. Who ever knew whistling could be so moving? The scenery is pretty. I wish I was Sara Carver. It is a dramatic mysterious western. Stalking is a perfect name for this movie because they are definitely being stalked. Adding the moon to it makes it even more mysterious because you think he's out there at night. Excellent!
I don't think I have ever seen a bad movie with Gregory Peck in it but this was his best! I had read where this movie was compared to Alfred Hitchcock styled movies and I can see why they say that as it does leave you on the edge of your seat! The scenery through out in this movie is just beautifully orchestrated! Its a movie that you will watch over and over again because you just want be able to get enough.
A classic western with tender moments, and a very scary bad guy. As far as I know, Gregory Peck has never made a bad movie. Music is haunting. Enjoy!
My husband and I both really enjoyed this movie. It was nice to see that a man could love a woman and her Indian child. I would recommend this movie for anyone who likes westerns and clean cut movies.
Love the last couple of chase scenes totally epic
