Reading the product description left me dubiously thinking "Don't be pretentious, they're just a pack of cards". I liked the box design enough to buy them and was pleasantly surprised. This design is simple and elegant. The court cards have a vintage look and a simple color palette that is pleasing. On close inspection, Tycoons have an intricate pattern with an 18th century feel. These cards do feel slightly thicker and have a great 'snap' sound. Highly recommended!
T11 once again bring great quality and style to help you up your card trickery. Women will tell you how "pretty" they are and men will wish they had them. The Ivory and Gold will compliment the bling on your wrist and the money in their wallet. Grab a deck or 13 (one for your collection) and enjoy. Don't forget deodorant as you puff your chest out and clip on your tie... people want to be deceived and you're just the person to do it.
I bought these from Davenports, but honestly I think I'll be getting them from theory11 from now on! Handle great but that's not the point - they look stunning. Maybe I'm bad but I get more compliments for these cards than for my magic! You have to buy them.
Just checking through all my previous purchases and I suddenly realized I haven't reviewed this yet. Again like all Theory11 luxury box sets this one is another winner. My personal opinion is I don't really like the leather strap and would have preferred another box type structure but as I said that's my opinion. That said it doesn't in any way subtract from it beauty and class that it generates when you look at it. Again some cards just yell to have a box set added to their presentation...another winner.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Tycoon design, but when I saw Ivorys they went straight into my cart. The coloring just pops on this deck. It comes in Mnemonica stack so you can open it fresh from the box ready for a deck stack effect. The cards also feel broken in right out of the box, so it's basically a tad thinner than your classic t11 deck. Add this to your cart immediately, you won't regret it.
I am a big fan of TXI cards and I use the Monarchs and Tally-Ho as my worker cards. Now, I just purchased my first deck of Tycoons and I may have found another to add to my worker list. Of course they meet the standard of quality I expect from all TXI cards. The box design is elegant looking and has very nice gold embellishes. The cards themselves and the very nice back design may have just moved themselves into my worker rotation. I suggest anyone who has not tried Tycoons to give them a shot.
I was able to pick up a blue Tycoon deck at Barnes & Noble, and it was a great purchase. I love how the colors on the back design stand out from each other even though they're the same color. The cards are thin and slippery, close to Bicycles. If you're in the market for a custom deck, I'd recommend these.
As in ALL of the cards that Theory 11 has to offer -- Tycoon reminds me of another era of elegance, wealth, and that there seemed to be no boundaries to what one desired to grab from Life. The Woman has attitude, and looks quite lovely in her gown -- look at me! The overall design has detail to marvel at, and to enjoy...
These cards have an uncanny clean and crisp feel to them. Because of how elegant they are, I am sometimes tempted to just keep them on display. If you are looking for cards that will wow the crowd by their mere appearance and have nice handling, these are your girls.
This is a wonderful deck. A wonderful work of art. The tuck case is exquisite. The detail denotes the thought and care that went into the design. It's a busy design that doesn't to seem to crowd at all. It emerges as weighty gold; as something you must have.
