Keeps R7 5800xt cool

anonymous February 15, 2026

The Ryzen 7 5800xt I have runs hotter than my previous R7 2700, so I needed a better cooler than the stock AMD one when I upgraded. This cooler is super easy and straightforward to put together and the clip on fans make it so accessible. Temps stay around 30-50 degrees celsius when idling and never go above 73 degrees under load. I ended up moving the fan that is supposed to sit in front of the RAM to the other side of the cooler only so that the fan wasn't blocking the RAM's RGB and it seems to perform just as well this way. Only issue I've had is the digital screen sometimes goes black under load but resetting the pc fixes it.

Works well, looks nice. I was a little confused at first about how the bars were going to mount to the motherboard, then I pulled up a video and immediately remembered the red cylinders that sit on the motherboard that hold the bars so they can get screwed down. From there it was a piece of cake. I pulled down the Linux software from GitHub and that worked easily.
