This is nice. Way better than the probe, I had to stick into the meat every time I wanted to know what the internal temperature of the meat was. I didn't want to take the meat out all the time, so I took it while it was on the grill. It was hot, sometimes. With this, I just hit power, then hit set and choose manual, then OK, then set the temp. It's that simple. I don't even have to open the grill to know what the internal temp of the meat is. Actually, when it hits the temperature I want it lets me know with the sound indicator. I've been close, but it says it can go to 3000ft unobstructed. It also has Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi indicator. I'm still learning how to use it. I only use manual mode now. With the smart mode , judging by the speed the meat is heating up, it can tell me how long it will be until it hits the temp I want. I smoke a lot of meat and getting the meat to the right temp can make all the difference in tenderness. I just used it to finish up a corned beef/pastrami. It came perfect. Talk about a game changer Price isn't bad either.
I feel like this thermometer paid for itself after one use. Im a new homeowner, and was cooking valentines day rib eyes from a local farm on the grill. The grill hasn't been cleaned all winter (I've been using it) and a massive grill fire happened. Despite the fire I managed to cook the rib eyes to a perfect medium rare, thanks to this thermometer
I've always avoided cooking meat, unless it was in a crock pot, but this thermometer is changing that! Now I don't have to worry about over cooking or under cooking, or checking the temp all the time (though it's fun to monitor the cooking in the app). Whew! Maybe I'll start volunteering to do the meat for holidays! Love that you can operate from the base unit (large, easy to read digits) or from the mobile app. And in the mobile app, you can give others access, which could be super helpful. Awesome that it estimates the time remains, and you can set different types of alerts and add notes to them. I do think it would be nice if the alerts could be set for different probe zones. You can use it as basic as you'd like, or get real into it. It's obviously durable, including the base unit, and it's super easy to both operate and clean. Yay for more, easier, and better protein!
Good product that works without disconnecting every few seconds. It works great over wifi and in the app. The probes are little thick so sticking them into 5/8" thick chicken cutlets is not easy but they work. Distance is good enough to be close by, i mean, when you're grilling, you should be near the grill if you care about your food. It works fine throughout a 2 story home and setup is easy. It's pretty accurate, i've compared it to my handy probe thermometer and it's right there. It looks like something that should last few years..
If you use a smoker or grill this is perfect! It has two probes which is awesome for larger types of meat or multiple pieces of meat. I used it on nice sized tri-tip. It worked out great since you can use two probs into the same piece of meat. The range is great. I don't think I will ever use the full 3000 feet, but... The material is quality as well. I have used the old school to the flip and this is the best! There are so many features to this, but I did not try them all yet, but it will be fun to use them. The monitoring is precise. I tested it with my older ones. Easy to store. If you know someone that loves to cook this is the best gift you can give them! FULLY RECOMMEND!
I recently tried ours on a 2kbs meatloaf and it made the whole cook a lot less stressfu! we set the target internal temp, stuck the probe right into the center of the loaf, and just let it go while I handled sides. The temperature updates were easy to follow, and I liked being able to glance at the base unit instead of constantly opening the oven. The thermometer tracked the rise in temperature really smoothly and alerted me right as it hit my target, so the meatloaf came out juicy instead of dried out like I've had happen before. Cleanup was simple, and the probe felt sturdy going in and out of the loaf pan. Overall, using it on meatloaf gave me confidence it will handle roasts and larger cuts just as well.
The probes are very durable and heavy in my hands. The tips quite sharp and penetrating and each is clearly identified by a large numeral on the part that sticks out from the meat being checked for temperature. The main unit is large and has a very clearly readable display. Very intuitive and easy to setup and monitor. The app was a breeze to install and get to work without he device as well. I love that I can keep an eye on the cooking temperature of two separate pieces of meat at the same time, whether they are both in the same oven, or located away from one another. This is especially useful when cooking outdoors on two separate grills. Instantly displays the current temperature both inside of and the exterior of the meat. Built-in batteries are long-lasting and safe. It's also excellent that everything, including the probes, are rechargeable! More than worth the expense!
These are great. I have the single wireless thermometer from ThermoMaven. I use it mainly for smoking meats and fish in my smoker. I still only use the manual mode. I know exactly what I want to do and what temp the meats need to be. With these wireless thermometers I'll know what the internal temp of the meat is with out even opening the smoker. The best part is it lets me know when it reaches that temperature. I could be close by or on the other side of the house. I can even be across town, it has wifi and blue tooth. This Thermomaven wireless thermometer has two probes. So I can get the internal temps on two different pieces of meat. Poultry is 165 degrees and brisket or other meats are about 225 degrees. At that temperature it seems to tenderize the cuts that need to be tenderized. You can probably put the two probes in one piece of meat, like a big turkey. With the smart mode, it can give so much more info. Depending on the temperature and the speed the meat is heating up, it can tell you how long it will take to reach your desired temperature. It also tells you when to remove the meat from the heat and let it rest. This way it reaches the desired temperature on its own and it doesn't over cook and dry out. This will make anybody a better griller, or just a better cook. You can use these in your oven too, for roast and big birds. You will never overcook or undercook anything again. The display is very bright and easy to read. Also, they are rechargeable. You don't have to worry about batteries going dead.
worked great for cooking on the grill. easy to use at a good price. seemed accurate and quality material
Did all it needed to do with easy setup.
