Bought these for my husband for Christmas as an upgrade to his Pit Boss probes. He loves them! The functionality is great. They keep connection and are very precise. He loves that they predict cooking time for him so it takes all the guesswork out of grilling. Highly recommended!
There are plenty of decent and more affordable options. To monitor food temperature, but if you are buying prime cuts and trying to create culinary experiences. Then you should invest in the tools. That give you the ability to do so. These probes are very accurate when used correctly.

I absolutely love my digital thermometer for cooking—this was hands down one of the best purchases I've made! I've always wanted one, and I finally got to use it yesterday while cooking chicken. It made the whole process so much easier and gave me confidence that the meat was perfectly cooked. The accuracy and convenience are fantastic, and it's now a must-have tool in my kitchen. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves cooking!
So far, so good! I had ordered this item based on the few reviews i could find, plus Walmart had the absolute best price on it (but almost half!). but i'd decided to cancel my order for better-known unit that has more reviews. Walmart shipped my order anyway with no response to my request to cancel (so in that regard, bad retailer, Walmart!). BUT, turns out my other selection hadn't arrived yet but the time I need to cook, so I decide to use this unit - might as well try it out if I'm returning it anyway, right? Well, it turns out that this Thermomaven is an absolutely fantastic thermometer! These probes are super accurate (my original reason for selecting this unit based on reviews) and their app is easy to use and informative - I love being able to see the temperature along the length of the probe - you can see the temperature in the center of the meat as well as the temperature throughout the meat toward the surface at 5 different points... gives you a great idea of how fast the food is cooking. And their "smart cooking" is really nice. it accurately told me when to take my meat off the heat so that residual cooking would get me to my final temperature. This thing was dead on! I made the best pork tenderloin I've ever made. I've never nailed the temperature so perfectly. Long story short, this thing is great. I will be keeping it as well as my other unit - they offer different specific functions and I'm honestly not willing to drop either one. A note to Walmart: please update your review form! why do i have to select Shift every time I need to type a capital "I"? Why doesn't this form capitalize the first character of each sentence? No wonder people do short reviews... it takes to much time to do it properly! Also, when someone tries to cancel, at least notify them that their request was unsuccessful. The only wayI knew was from your shipping notification. Not cool.

It worked well for two items in the oven at the same time a prime rib roast and a spiral cut ham. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I cannot figure out how to use the stand alone apparatus.
