Thomas & Friends TrackMaster Percy 6-in-1 Train Play Vehicle

Love it! My 4 year old grandson spends hours with this awesome train set. Several positives: The parts for the track are nicely colour coded and also identified by letter/number code underneath, which makes the track easy to assemble in any of the 6 suggested configurations. We go with the most complicated configuration. I am looking into buying cars to attach. The track sits quite well on my thick carpet, which I was worried about pre-purchase. Only 1 negative: the overpasses and trestles could be a bit sturdier. Every time my grandson moves near or touches one, even very lightly, it shifts out of place and jams the train. Other than that, this is an awesome set and very nicely priced - I did not buy it on sale and I still think it's a great product for the price. We don't have space to leave it set up so we assemble and disassemble the set every two weeks when the grandkids visit - easy.

This was the perfect addition to our growing set of tracks! I bought some adapters from TrainLab, and Thomas does a find job of crossing over to our wooden tracks from IKEA.

Excellent colourful outer package design, very appealing to my 3 and 6 year old. All pieces present with a VERY helpful leaflet of instructions. It was extremely useful to have each track piece labelled with a code on the under side, so connecting the pieces together was more accurate, easy and fast. The parts are also colour coordinated which helped to speed things up without looking at the code, but using the code is better as some pieces look similar but are actually different. Track pieces are light, quite bendy but could be more sturdy. The parts slot together without much effort and is solid enough the train runs up and down smoothly on it like normal. Dismantling the track pieces needs a slight twist and tug and are a lot easier to take apart as they aren't a solid 'click' connection like some tracks can be. Instructions were detailed and easy to follow with a additional highlighted areas for connecting tracks under the tunnel etc. It also includes track pieces not used in each layout, so you know you're not missing a piece out from your layout. The Percy train is fairly solid, but the side rod for wheels could be more solid to widthstand pushing and pulling from children. The On and off for the train is perfect. Instead of the usual sliding left or right for on or off at the base of the toy, the train has a little tab switch at the top, pushing forwards or pulling backwards operates it. Sits flat when correctly assembled. One part (E2) may need connecting with the correct end, else it might not sit properly, and the supporting bridges may seem too short, or too high. It does take up quite a bit of space regardless of layout. Adult assembly/ help required as some parts are a little tricky, such as bridges and under/ over passes. Overall layouts are varied to make this set fun for longer. Train stays on the track most of the time, but can stumble when the track switch catches on the train. Train noise is quiet. Awesome toy overall and would definitely recommend!

Good engine that's easy to get up and running and feels quality in the hand when batteries installed. My 4 year old didn't get immediately that you can't push it along the floor as its geared to the motor but even a fair ew goes at this didn't damage Percy which shows good design and understanding of the target audience! Good to see a set that has a different engine than Thomas included but Would be good to see future sets with the less usual characters included, we have about 5 Thomas' and 3 Percys now! The tracks are very easy to put together for an adult but following the instructions can be a bit tricky so needs to be done away from distraction (not easy when manic 4yr old wants to play with it) Tip: I set him up a small track with other Trackmaster track we have to keep him occupied. Set up track 4 first that seemed to be the easiest but all are quite complex. Would be good to have an intro track that was simpler included. All the crossover and supporting pieces were easy to construct and following the instructions are well detailed but it does take a good 15-20 minutes to get a track in place. Once built the fun begins and the different parts of the track are great in the number of ups, downs and crossovers. The points letting the engines go on different paths keeps the kids involved instead of just watching it go round. All the different tracks are fairly different which is good and points to add additional track is welcomed to be able to expand with other sets you may have. Overall a very well thought out trackmaster set that holds the interest better than some of the others due to the number of different tracks.

The trainset had instructions but very tedious to put together. It was a hit what done. My son has been playing with it nonstop. He is 3. This was his favorite gift from Christmas this year. I am glad I bought it. He definitely enjoys the motorized thomas trains on the tracks.

I bought this a week ago. A bit tricky to set up as it only displays pictures of completed track so takes a bit of figuring out to set it up. I am dissapointed however because Percy doesn't have a mail wagon to pull. Now se have to purchase a new Percy seperately to get a mail wagon? Why sell this massive 6 in 1 track but not include the wagon???

Full time Youtubers specializing in TTTE. We LOVED this set, which should provide hours of fun, but the set came with no instructions. In fact, when we went to Google looking to see if the instructions have been posted online, all we found was a ton of complaints that this set didn't come with the instructions. If you get instructions, this set is probably the best value for your $ in recent years, but the number of comments we found from people that didn't get instructions included means this is a deal breaker. I bought this gift for my son for Christmas and he was so excited! WAS being the key word. There is missing pieces making it difficult to do any of the tracks! His other gifts were other trains for this track that cant be used. My poor little guy has been crying and not able to understand why I wont finish putting it together for him. I did notice that one of the track pieces that I did have in the box was bent, so I dont think that piece will work either. If I am able to get the pieces that I already paid for, this product would be perfect.
