Thomas & Friends Wood James Wooden Traffic Train Engine

So, this is the old school James. My nephew lost the newer version of this, but you simply can't find the Thomas-themed trains in stores that are compatable with the wooden tracks. As a result, I'm having to pay top dollar for these trains on one website or another. I was reading other reviews that people were receiving loose trains wrapped in tissue paper, but this one came in it's Thomas-themed plastic packaging obsviously not opened or used.

My son LOVED this wooden James engine! He really liked the fact that it didn't die like the mechanical Thomas engines. Build great and it withstanding my 2 year old! Plastic wheels make it very easy to move around the track. Designed for well and magnets work great to attach to the other Thomas friends or even other magnetic trains!! My daughter is 7 and she is even having a blast playing with this also! We highly recommend the magnetic wooden James train engine. Great toy for almost any age.

My son loves to play with his train sets so he was thrilled to recieve a Wooden James train for his collection. It worked well with tracks that he already had. The Thomas the train products always have personality and character, which engages my son's imagination as he plays. This toy is very well made from wood, with very nice details. It is a high quality piece. My son enjoyed that there were two pieces connected by a magnet, the James engine and a coal car, and played with it for a long time! My 2 year old doesn't watch Thomas and Friends, but that certainly didn't hinder his excitement when he opened his James train and coal car. He LOVES it and has taken it with him everywhere for the past two days. The design is compatible with other brands of wooden tracks which makes it an easy addition to any train set. This Thomas and Friends wooden James toy has opened up my toddlers imaginative play with me. We play with James during the show and my toddler even mimics James through play time which is quite hysterical. He has always loved the Thomas the train show and it's nice to have a new addition to his growing train collection. This James train fits the wooden train track set as well, and another wooden track set that we had on hand before. He is constructed quite well and I believe he will last a while. The face and wheel parts feel as if they are made of plastic but even when he has used it outside James hasn't showed any wear. James does not have any stickers so I don't have to worry about him pulling them off. On the front side and back side of James is small enclosed magnets which either allow the additional train cart to be pulled or pushed away. Overall I have seen crashes, throws, playing outside with and this James has took it all without damage to paint, wood, or the plastic, it's definitely made to last with children. My children received them about two weeks ago and were so excited about this train. They unpackaged it right away and went to play. They loved added it to their wooden tracks we already have and it fit on the tracks. I do wish it was a little bigger to more easily handle for my little one.
