I wasnt sure if it would taste different compared to regular bagels. the texture is a little softer and took a little longer to toast but slab some cream cheese on and you can barely tell the difference. I can feel a little less guilty eating a bagel knowing i'm also getting a little more protein in.
I read before I bought these and some people had a problem with the texture, not me I thought they were perfectly textured they toasted up magnificently they tasted great now I didn't use cream cheese on them cuz I don't like cream cheese mine were loaded with butter and they tasted wonderful. that's why I did not Mark the cream cheese in the rating there. I would highly recommend these if you want some extra protein I think they are delicious. bagels are one of my favorite forms of bread and I have absolutely no complaints about them.
I usually buy bagels from a deli so that is my benchmark. I was unable to go and thought I'd give these a try. For the supermarket mass produced bagel category these were okay. I had mine with whipped cream cheese and with eggs/avocado. Both tasted fine with a toasted bagel and relatively soon after toasting. I would rate these a zero untoasted. And if left too long the bagel also deteriorated in taste and texture. These are not bad if toasted and eaten right away. I would not recommend these untoasted. I liked the smaller portion size vs regular bagels. My experience was not bad but these will not be a regular choice or purchase for me. And the price is high for what your get.
They are not the worst things ever but you can definitely tell something is a little weird, mostly its the texture.
Weird aftertaste. I eat a lot of protein items, but this is almost chemically tasting. I'm not big into the calories either, it's the same amount of calories as a regular bagel. Then to add anything to the bagel more calories. I won't purchase again. The outside of bagel is almost waxy or filmy is very odd.
Barely edible. I had to add some jelly on top of my cream cheese just to mask the bad taste they have. It's hard to explain. The outside toasts up nicely, but the inside is almost wet. It's moist, and thick like a dense cake. Not pleasant at all. I eat a lot of high protein things, and this was one of the worser ones. Won't buy again.
These just did not taste good at all. I was looking forward to a high protein option but the dense texture and odd taste was a let down for sure. Do not recommend.
these have a horrible texture and smelled weird, I really tried to give it a fair chance, 1st half with regular cream cheese then strawberry cream cheese. but I couldn't finish this, kept chewing for the longest and the taste couldn't be covered up with the flavor of the strawberry
These protein bagels are positively disgusting. The texture is wrong and the flavor is off putting. We had one and threw the others away. What a waste of money!
These are absolutely the worst bagels I have ever had in my life. I chew and chew and chew, cannot swallow! Beware if you choose to purchase. Will never buy them again.
