Thompsons water Seal helps restore weathered wood. It seals the wood so water does not penetrate. It beads up on the wood. Excellent for outside porches and stairs.

One coat did the job as recommended. Great color. Arrived within days. Highly recommend both Thompson's and Walmart.

I have been using this stain for the last 4 years. It makes my old deck look beautiful and new. I do have to restain every year but end result still looked great and matched up with the stain that was still left on the deck from last year. I still had stain from last year so I applied it to the deck. I ran out so went to pick up another container. Right away I notice its different, more watery. I put the stain down and its completely different, more like tinted than semi-transparent. The first photo is the stain I used left over from last year and the second photo is the new container of stain I used. Thinking I made a mistake and got the wrong stain, I check the containers, same barcode. I’m quite upset, it looks bad, they either changed the formula or mislabeled the container. I will never buy this stain again.

I had the same experience as JWard. This product is not worth buying. I have had this product on my deck less than 4 months . Not only is there visible flaking but the coating is washing off in areas that are not flaking. There is quite a bit of mold where the coating has come off. My son and I spent a good deal of time preparing the deck before putting this junk on, so the results should have been much better. I sent an email to Thompson`s telling them about this product but I have not received a response. I used Thompson's for many years but no longer.!

it took at least two coats on new wood which was not recommended. Deck was less than a year old,cleaned and dry for 6 days prior to applying. Now there is mold and mildew under the stain and its chipping in places after 4 months. This is not the Thompsons product of years past which I used a lot, this will probably cause me to replace my 500 sq ft of deck boards again in a shorter period of time. I'd been better of putting nothing on my deck, I've never had mildew or mold in 20 years until now. Don't waste your money.

Horrible experience, less than 4 months and it looks terrible. So much for the best out there. I would give negative stars if i could. Yes there is mud on the ramp but i took a close up where you can clearly see its just gone! It was brand new wood!

I've been a long time customer of Thompson water seal, until now. I stained my porches with Thompson natural cedar in the spring of 2019 now March of 2020 it is completely coming off. I was expecting at least a few years before I had to restrain. Very disappointed
