Great for the Price!

TheMoseph November 22, 2017

Great for Elite Dangerous! I can't imagine playing it without it. Works for War Thunder as well, despite what one reviewer states. Sounds like user error. All you have to do is configure your settings, Same with Elite. As for the currently short list of games it supports, the official website states support for more games is on the way. Quality-wise it's what you should expect for a low end flight stick. Great stick & throttle for the price!

Works well on PC for past year. Used in games like Elite Dangerous and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Lots of buttons, ergonomic, sturdy. Can have rudder control with the switch on front of throttle lever, or by twisting the main stick. Price is nice for the amount of features, especially when on sale. Main stick has developed a mild squeak. When 2 halves aren't screwed together, the main stick has slight wobble if you move too hard or fast. Make sure your tabletop space is large enough for this. The cable between the 2 halves cannot be disconnected.

No complaints. Functions exactly as advertised.

Make sure it's compatible with whatever you're wanting to play first. That's the biggest hang up on this stick, it's only compatible with a few games. That said, it's great for the price point and for its compatible games. I only really heavily used it for Elite Dangerous, but the additional mapping options and control placement is optimal for any flight simulator or spaceflight “simulator”. I say this as someone with some extremely high end peripherals, there's not much reason to get a better flight stick. Especially with the low number of games that use flight sticks. The weight is nice, just under 5lbs, so it's just heavy enough to hold still on your lap for fine adjustments, without being cumbersome. It also detaches, so that's nice. It really improved my dogfighting and allows me to operate multiple weapons and defense systems simultaneously.

Watch out!

Procrastinator May 22, 2017

This is by far the best controller for aerial games out there. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is that when flying planes it tends to get confusing with the button layout. Helicopters on the other hand is awesome.

Nice beginner flight stick; Shaky support

For those who already have the HOTAS X, you're apparently not missing much. When doing some research, all this stick adds is proper PS4 compatability, a smaller deadzone, a specialized jack for the new rudders Thrustmaster released, and a voucher for some free gear for the PS4 version of War Thunder I discovered after opening my box. Not sure how long that deal will go on... For those looking to get into flight sims, or those upgrading from the all-on-the-base cheapo solutions, this is a pretty sweet flight stick to use. While the stick and throttle are made of plastic, it is a heavy and sturdy plastic. At no time did I feel like the stick was going to break on me. Both the stick and throttle can be kept together with some screws and a hex wrench (included in a well under the stick), or kept separate with a cable JUST long enough between the two to fit a small keyboard between. The throttle and stick also feel smooth to operate; something I did not expect from a flight stick using potentiometers. I especially love the rocker on the back of the throttle that can be used for rudder rather than twisting the flight stick. I do have some nitpicks, but only two of them are really worth mentioning. A minor one is the awkward positioning of some buttons on the throttle, mainly being the triangle, R2 and L2 buttons. The triangle button seems to be placed too low... I guess you're supposed to bump it with your thumb rather than press it, but it just feels odd. The L2 and R2 buttons next to the rocker just feel like they were thrown there to compensate for them. My other problem, pertaining to the PC, would be drivers. As of this writing (11/16/16), the current 2016 drivers on the Thrustmaster website crashes during install. It took some hairpulling and some luck, but I actually found an old link to the 2015 version of the driver in their "Firmware" PDF on their support site. Hopefully this will be addressed in the future. Tested this stick in DCS World and Microsoft Flight Simulator X on PC, and War Thunder on PS4. (For the guy who posted the one star review claiming it doesn't work, I found that you have to sync the controller up to your account prior to launching the game. Hitting the 'PS' button on the controller, then selecting your account will make the controller detectable by War Thunder. You might have to set some controller settings once in-game for optimal enjoyment)

if needed for game it's not regrettable

LifeTimeGamer August 18, 2018

Just to clarify before I express my opinion/review, I don't own this item myself but have used and watched it perform while I watched from a active online and story base partner with PS4 gaming and would say it's nothing special in ways of separating itself from the competition currently available. It's reaction from using to the game itself is on point and respectively saying features wise is normal with others, regardless of the lack of different features, keeping it equal to the others, I'd recommend it still with beginners and internment player. Once the popularity gains momentum with games benefiting from such controllers I also want to remind that fact of not needing this type of controller because the lack of compatible games.

Bad joystick

Hack September 20, 2016

I bought this joystick to play on a play station 4 war thunder game. The joystick will not operate the game.

It works...but for only 1 game!!

Neuro December 7, 2016

So a controller is made exclusively for 1 game, war hammer, as no other game has built capabilities with this flight stick. Pointless to purchase.
