I always read the bad reviews before ordering a product and I'm very happy I took what they said with a grain of salt and bought this silicone mold. It's wonderful and I will be ordering 3 more because they're that good. I typically have some leftover fruit that isn't eaten, and I end up throwing it away because it rots, so I thought I could make fruit popsicles to save some money. Let me just say that my watermelon and lime popsicles turned out beautifully. No instructions included, but it doesn't take an Einstein to figure it out. There was no separation or settling of ingredients that is typical of popsicle molds that stand upright and there was absolutely no leakage of ingredients from the stick hole as others have complained about, and believe me, there is nothing waterier and more liquid than pureed watermelon and lime juice. I suspect their mold leaked because they used a knife to puncture the stick holes, but why? From the inside of the mold just firmly push the popsicle stick through the marked slot and it pops right through. As for those who complained about the mold being "floppy," what silicone mold isn't? As with all silicone molds you need to place the mold on a sheet pan before filling and freezing/baking. The silicone overlay is just that, an overlay, not a lid. It appears that the overlay gives the top of the popsicle a smooth, flat appearance like the other side of the popsicle, and the silicone overlay lightly adheres to the silicone mold because silicone adheres to silicone Btw, I saved the box for storage to protect the mold. It doesn't take up that much more room than the mold itself. I think I might make some ice cream bars next time. I plan to press softened ice cream into the mold and when completely frozen I'll dip them in chocolate and maybe coat them with toasted chopped nuts.
These are very easy to use. Just put the sticks through the slit and add whatever liquid to the mold. They are wobbly so I put them on a small cutting board when I put them in the frezzer to stabilize them. They're easy to get out of the mold once frozen.
These were easy to use. I followed the suggestions and insights of other reviewers, and my popcicles came out nicely. They were well received. I'm looking forward to making healthy treats. I used 1 ½ cup frozen blackberries, a 15 oz can of full fat coconut milk and ¼ cup honey. For a cream-cicle, blend everything up and pour into 2 of these molds. The sticks go in and stay snug. The popsicles come out easily and were well shaped and smooth. I recommend this item
One thing I like about these molds compared to traditional vertical popsicle molds is that it's much easier to find space in a tightly packed freezer in which to place for freezing. Also, the silicon molds make it much easier to de-mold than traditional hard plastic molds. Note that for ease of placement in your freezer and fast freeze, place upon an aluminum foil pan.
So I like the way the pops release but the mold is flimsy so I suggest putting this on a small tray in the freezer just as Im doing until it's frozen. It doesn't hold shape well. Very flexible and nice size pops. The sticks that come with it are good but beware these are small sticks and you get 50 of them. You will want to buy more but good enough to start you off. The cover on this is a thin flexible silicone, it doesn't snap on, just rests on top to prevent stuff from contaminating your pops in the freezer. After they freeze I recommend transferring to a ziplock or container. Taking this into consideration I think this is good. No leaking from the stick holes. Easy to clean. Easy to store.
These posicle molds are super rasy to remove. they get clean in the dishwasher without issues. They are not very rigid so you need to be careful not to spill when putting them in the freezer. They work exceptionally well with fruit. i liquidize the frozen berries/peach/mango with a little lemon juice. makes a super healthy delivious posicle
Great things: Came with popsicle sticks looked nice. Not great things: The silicone is almost too flexible. The cover is also silicone and not a hard plastic to keep the mold structured. Making everything very loose. Easily spilled my liquid I wanted to freeze (blended strawberry banana and yogurt). I could see it working if you had a flat tray underneath it. and if you had a dedicated space. Also the places where you place your popsicle stick were hard to pop out of the mold. My takeaway: not the best design. too flimsy, hard to "un-mold". If you wanted to make it work, you probably could. Personally I'm gonna pay $2/$3 extra for a mold I won't have to be so delicate with that's more structured.
ingenious however they make it that if you forget to put in the sticks, you can put them in after you pour the liquid into the mould. however, it is extremely flimsy. you need to be sure to put a plate or small tray under the mould if you don't want the liquid to spill out and make a mess over everything. then lift the plate and all into the freezer.
These molds are very soft, flexible %26 - well, flimsy. I expected something more substantial considering that they would have liquid in them! Will need to put them on a tray in order to get them in the freezer.
The photo shows the problem. You have to puncture the silicone to fit the stick in. If it's not perfect, your mold leaks. You also need to put this on a plate or something flat before you put it in the freezer. Once you move it, it makes a mess. You're better off using paper cups to make your popsicles.
