This is a step up from the old graphing calculator. I really like the USB-C charging functionality and color display. My son is using this for his Algebra class. The teacher recommended the TI-83 Plus but the Evo was much cheaper on sale and they said it was fine to use. Since it is compatible with standard test taking, I opted for this newer model.
This seems to be the latest and greatest TI that is acceptable on standardized tests and also for my son's precalc classes and beyond. While this is different from the old TI calculators I had back in the day, a simple google search when searching up select functions is easy peasy. I also have a python ready TI calculator and the navigation is a little different but not drastically different. A good price from Walmart too. $85!
We caught this guy in sale. I bought this calculator for my son, and it's definitely a big upgrade from the old TI‑83 I used back in the day. It has tons of features and feels more like a mini computer than a basic math tool. I'm not sure how many of the advanced functions he'll actually use right now, but a parent can dream. My only concern is that it feels a bit fragile like one good drop could do some damage. Overall, though, it's a cool and very useful tool for school.
We bought this for our college student as a required element of a class they were taking. It is very easy to use, designed with daily use in mind, and seems to be well made. I would definitely purchase this item again, and Walmarts price can't be beat!
I love the full screen, no black border around the screen anymore! I like the thin design! The speed is amazing! Easy to learn and use! I love the USBC it's more modern and up to date! Can't wait to use the Python editor to further my programming experience! I would give this a 10 out of 10!
NEWEST EDITION, has more than the PLUS, and CE. I loved the price.
The display screen and upgraded buttons are a great feature. I don't mind the lower battery life as I only have to charge it every 1-2 weeks depending on the level of work I'm doing.
Calculator included computer software with a 4 year license and a 3 year warranty from Texas instruments. Inputting mathematical equations is simple and the graphics are great. Will test how well python works and share back.
I got this for my child who is starting Highschool. While the vast array of buttons and features were a bit scary, I knew that coupled with the large colored screen that all the features were there for even the most advanced mathmatical calculations. In addition, it has a rather rugged build, a slide-over protective shell and USB-C charging.
Works fine but doesn't have many improvements over the span of 10 years since I used a graphing calculator. The screen is also disappointing for a modern technology.
