Tie Down Engineering has a history of innovative and functional marine and outdoor products, which are some of the very best of their type. Most trailer bunk glide on pads made of various plastics are unable to handle the weight and friction of heavier fiberglass boats, generally over a 1500lb weight limit. This would exclude a large number of boats over the 18'LOA range. This material does not black streak the bottom of your hull when loading your boat under normal idle speeds, and allows you to get further up toward your bow roller and winch stand without having to gun your engine. I would conservatively estimate these will cut your loading friction between 30-40%, particularly if you do your best to install the pads with no more than 4" of carpeted space between the edges of each pad. Make sure your keel rollers are working properly, and remove/replace all rusted roller spindle shafts. May as well spend a couple dollars extra and replace the rollers with either the new blue or amber poly rollers while you are at it. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE PROVIDED PHILIPS SCREW HEADS COMPLETELY FLUSH WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE PAD CHANNEL. If there is excess sand and debris floating around your launch area, having a small angle nylon broom in the back of your truck bed comes in handy to clean your boards and these pads off before putting the trailer in the water to load your rig. Another huge advantage is that since your hull is actually slightly suspended and sitting on these pads as opposed to the carpeted boards themselves, you should greatly extend the life of your bunks. The ease of loading and launching with these pads more than offset their cost; very pleased with this purchase!
Eliminates one concern when using your boat. They work great, eliminating the need for straining your back pushing the boat off the trailer.
Excellent!! And, yes, they are very slick / easy to install!!
Typlcally you wrap your wood with carpet instead you use these bunk slides. The boat just slides up the ramp so much easier. Be careful till you get used to it it is much fastes that carpet. Takes much less effort to load boat.
Very easy to install and worked great!
