I am a paraplegic as a result of a stroke 14 years ago. I am always looking for ways to make my life easier this ramp with the slide out ramp is a stroke of genius unlike other ramps that must be folded up for transport this just slides out of the way with little effort I no longer dread car trips where I have to depend on others for a wheelchair assist
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my wife's mobility scooter so she could go shopping by herself. It is very good and simple enough for her to use. Unfortunately it was destroyed by a driver who said he didn't see it while my wife was shopping. Another one is supposed to be delivered today
Love it, very easy assembly & just what I need for my scooter. I am so happy that now i can take my scooter with me when I go places. Shipping was fast & price was very good for the quality product.
This was lightweight compared to others. The assembly was painless. The reciever tongue that comes out of the cast knuckle for tilting the ramp vertical and horizontal is just a bit small for a standard 2" hitch. Even though I know its rock solid and not going anywhere, its odd to see the whole assembly rock to and fro about 2 degrees. Its simply the hitch tolerance. Other than that, a great and easy to use rack. The Silver Spring cover with straps made into it was great too. Not many covers had straps.
Product design is good but needs some improvement. The slid out ramp needs some guide so it does not bind when trying to pull it out for use. The pivot point was off and could not pin it in place in transport position. Tie down area needs to be beefed up.My unit arrived with parts loose and one of the L brackets was stock between the ramp and the guide.
Your unit had to be modified to accept my go go scooter. I'm an 85 year old man and with the modifcations a child of 5 could now load or drop the scooter.
Although we both like this lift, we find it hard to work since we are both somehwhat handicapped. I think we are both sorry we did".t buy a electric lift,
Ramp was not easily operated for disabled person to use alone to slide in or out. The bracket was solid and stable. Folding up carrier on some vehicle could cover tail lights.
My parents bought this product because it was aluminum and its ability to fold up. We assembled (holes in bracket didn't line up) and mounted to their suv. The angle when tipped is so drastic that it is almost impossible to get scooter on it. Twice I have had the scooter go over the edge. There is no way my elderly, handicapped, father can get his scooter on this. The lever to release the tilt is difficult to reach and even harder to pull for it to tilt. When folded up it is very loose fit and has a lot of play in it. DO NOT purchase this ramp. You would be better off buying a cheaper metal one with a drop down ramp.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it was not wide enough have trouble loading the wheelchair. would love to send it back for a different one.
