I have been on the hunt for the perfect bedside alarm clock. This one checks off nearly all my boxes: -Perfectly quiet. Even so-called "Silent" analog clocks end up making some noise eventually. -Battery powered. Good for three reasons; one, it's completely unaffected by the power going out, and two, I don't have a 120 volt AC transformer generating electromagnetic fields next to my head while I sleep. Batteries are DC power which doesn't generate these types of fields. Three relates to my first point; DC battery power makes this alarm clock perfectly quiet at night. I would prefer if it took AA batteries instead of AAA batteries, but that's just a nitpick. -Light off option at night. There is an ambient night light option which creates a pleasing dim grey backlight glow that isn't as harsh as the LED display of most digital alarm clocks, but I prefer to sleep without any extra lights on in my room, so I can leave this off. If I get up in the middle of the night and really want to know the time, I can hit the snooze/light bar. No light or sound to interrupt my beauty sleep are good things. -Alarm is adequately loud without being obnoxious or too loud. It starts with one beep per second, then two, then three, then a steady pulse of beeps. The snooze bar gives about five minutes of extra sleep time if you need it. -Easy to set the time, date, and alarm. Easy to turn the alarm on and off. I didn't need a manual nor a lot of brain power to figure this thing out. -Easy to read display without needing my reading glasses. -It shows the room temperature and the month and day, which are nice but were not things I find that useful. What would be useful would be to show the day of the week, because it's really nice to know when it's the weekend when I wake up. Overall, while the day of week would have been a really nice feature, considering the price of this alarm clock, I cannot complain. It is already better than other alarm clocks at significantly higher price points, so I am very happy with it. It's cheap enough that if they did come out with a new model that featured the day of the week, I would replace it with that.
This clock is really good. I like all the features. You can put the backlight on at night so you can read it. I bought it because I wanted to know the temperature in my bedroom . The alarm is loud enough.
I like that the clock does not add light to the room. The alarm is designed with an easy on/ off. The alarm starts soft and then becomes louder as needed. Since I wake easily, it's pleasant to waken without a harsh jolt :) I'm pleasantly surprised by this clock.
I recommend this light, reliable & easy to program alarm clock More importantly, if you can read the AM/PM, it'll be 100% accurate.-a senior
Not hard to set it. Easy to read
Very nice in size and simplicity and I like all of the information it provides
Does the job. Trust TIMEX. So far very reliable.
The only drawback with this item is the nighttime light emitted from the face of the clock is not adjustable. I made a screen to block some of the light and it is now satifactory.
I returned this clock as the ambient lighting didn't allow me to read it from across the room, and there is no way to have it lighted full time. The night-light for bedside was too bright.
the walmart product pic attached show the lit up version **** so the blue background is only there when you press the light button otherwise it doesnt stay lit **** and its hard to read
