This is a great and inexpensive watch! I owned one previously and I broke it by trying to replace the battery by myself. Not a good idea! So, I started looking for another one and found the same model on WalMart in their online store. I am very happy as it's a great watch. Would highly recommend!
I had not worn a watch for years, I relied on my smartphone which is always in my back pocket. I convinced myself that there is no need to have a watch, it was redundant. Lately I have noticed my friends all sporting some pretty cool watches, so I thought it was time to get a watch for myself, but it had to be pretty great or it would end up in a drawer somewhere . I searched and found some beautiful watches, it came down to this Timex for about $59 or a Nautica N18522G NST for about $125 I really liked both watches but still being unsure if I would really wear the watch I decided the less expensive Timex was a better gamble. When the watch arrived I immediately tore open the box and put the watch on, it is impressive. The face is perfect, it's large without looking clownish, it looks manly and rugged, the band is strong. The finish of the watch is fantastic, every surface looks precise. The chronograph works fine the Indiglo is great and the hands glow in the dark brightly. I have not taken the watch off, everyone loves it and it looks like I spent a couple hundred bucks on the watch. I am already looking for another watch at these prices I can have an awesome watch for every day of the week.
After completing an on-line order with Walmart, took a chance and dialed in chronograph watches. Shortly the "Timex Men's Expedition Field Chronograph Watch appeared." The Expedition answered one particular pet peeve with most chronographs - the hands block the view of the smaller dials as the minute and hours hands make their rounds twice a day. The expedition has see through hands. The chronograph hand is delicate but has a red pointer as does the minute dial hand at the six-o-clock position. In addition there is the "indiglo" night light. The leather strap, a personal preference over metal, is comfortable out of the box - no break in required. The instruction sheet once flattened out is straight forward and quite well written and illustrated. Price is right also.
This is a very cool watch for under $50. The face looks rugged with the little dials and the chronograph function. The watch hands are good looking, too. Very pleased!
Purchased for my husband's birthday, who collects watches. He loved it due to the features this watch has for the money. Can't believe the price of what this watch does.
I've had this piece for over a month now, one word for it; awesome! I engaged in swimming & did a few hrs of water-rafting (abit extreme). Apart from a hairline scratch I got from a hit on a rock, the watch is perfect.
I have been looking at the Navy Seal Luminox. I found this watch and fell in love with it. Wal-Mart got it out to me incredibly quickly. It's even better than originally anticipated!! Thank you for having such a great price on it as well!!
Watch is good, but the Indiglo illumination is very weak. This is a sign that the watch has been on the shelf for a very long time, hence the rock bottom clearance price. Dark faced Indiglos are quite dim anyway and perhaps if it was a white faced dial it would still be readable at night. If I had paid full price for this watch, I would have returned it as defective. The strap was probably strong and durable, but too bulky, stiff and very pleathery.
this is a nice sized, reliable watch. unfortunately, I rely on the Timex Indiglo feature to check time in the dark, and this model's Indiglo feature is not very illuminating. I have other Timex watches that have much better Indiglo function. This watch keeps accurate time, but don't expect to read the time in the dark very well.
To put it in perspective, and to be fair, I have owned Jaeger Le-Coultre's, Panerais, Omegas, etc. I'm comparing this watch to them. I bought it for $88 but see they are now $39 a week later. I'm comparing this to my Timex Indiglo I had in third grade. The chronometers don't reset to zero. They reset to 4 seconds past zero. The luminosity is dim and murky green, not the bright blue backlit one like the good 'ol days of yore. I would take the one I owned in third grade purchased from K-mart for $18 a hundred times over this one. Timex screwed this up big time. It arrived by FedEx which was expedient. To finish, one couldn't pay me to ever slap it on my wrist. I did not even unseat it or slap it on my wrist. It was barely out of the box (less than an inch). My front door receipt was about 60 minutes. It's a piece of crap. Don't waste your money.
