this is so cute and great way for a young child to start learning guitar. it only has one string but comes with a booklet of songs to play and get used to using and holding a guitar. great for littles who's hands are too small or weak to use an entire fret board with metal strings yet. our daughter is 3 and it's the perfect size. I like the crescent moon design as well because it makes it easier for them to hold and reach for strumming/plucking than a regular guitar as well. It would be super cool if they kept this design but added a full fret board and 6 strings in this small size for graduated learning. it's simple, but a great learning tool.

The Tinkertar is an excellent choice for a child's first guitar. Sturdy but plays good enough for a professional guitarist to not be too frustrated when playing with and showing kids the basics. Our family actually owns four Tinkertars so we can all make music together with the same type of instrument.
