I have had this bale spear for approximately a month now and have put it on and taken it off my tractor at least 10 times. It takes 2-3 minutes to put it on and under a minute to take it off. I use this on a JD3038E tractor with a 305 loader rated and ballasted to lift 1250lbs. However, I do not recommend lifting 1200lb bales with a tractor similar in size with this spear. Between the small tractor footprint, and the fact that the spear is out at the end of your bucket ~1000-1100lb bales tip my tractor forward if I raise or lower them too them too quickly or travel across bumpy ground. For lighter bales (600-800lbs), this has not been an issue at all. My only other complaint, which is minor, is that the chain binder that comes with the spear is a bit too big - there is no place around the bucket to have both hooks pulling straight so if you don't get it in just the right spot, you cant tighten up the chain. For smaller buckets like the one on the 305 loader, you might consider picking up a binder that is a couple inches shorter end-to-end.
