I recent found an interest in preserving very antique small furniture, such as 200 yr chairs and side tables. Google Gemini specifically recommended this HIDE glue for historical preservation such as mine, but not to use PVA glue (Wood glue, Elmer's white glue). It worked very well on some loose chair-leg stretchers (dowels). But, this stuff is messy if not applied sparingly or carefully. Consider a dollop on a paper plate and a thin brush. And label you bottle so it's not used by the kids for craft projects.

Thinner than I would wish it.
unlike heated hide glue, this product is prone to seep into felt and fabric -- as opposed to creating a surface bond. Wood to wood - no problem. And a little heat will undo anything needing to be undone.

I found this product to be the better glue for interior wood antiques. It was properly adhesive, easy to apply, and had a thickness that dries fast. Great price for hard to find glue was a bonus too

Great for guitars !
I used this to repair some small cracks on the sides of my 1964 Martin guitar. This worked better than expected. I am very pleased. I used this glue in a room that was 55 degrees Fahrenheit in temperature and had zero problems with curing, bonding or adhesion. I highly recommend this Amber Titebond Genuine Hide Glue. Thanks !

Works great
I needed this to make some repairs on a couple inexpensive violins. I am not a professional luthier. A professional would use a hot hide glue to get a slightly better bond. I made the repair of replacing a neck block and regluing the top on one violin. The other was to re-glue some separating joints. Both repairs were done about a year ago and still holding.

THE STANDARD FOR WOOD GLUE THAT CAN BE REMOVED.
I HAVE NOT USED THIS NEW GLUE,BUT HAVE USED TITEBOND FOR YEARS IN MUSIC INSTRUMENT REPAIR.NO FAILURES!GOES ALONG WAY,AND AGES WELL.

takes a bit longer to set but has become one of my staple wood glues. this and the original.
