Simple and effective
In a neighborhood where everyone has party night lights on every evening, all seasons, this photocell comes on early sunset. It's a simple dial, with only a few settings, and my preference is 4 hours. But that is better than constantly pushing pins or reprogramming the other timers I have.

TM142DOLB. Westek outdoor timer
Works great for my purposes. Basically wanted to set my bug zapper from dusk to dawn for the bug season.

Westek TM142DOLB Outdoor Light Sensing Daily Timer
works very well, like the choice. Please design one for the outdoor lights with the plug on the end or with a standard base to screw into the outdoor lights so you can hang a wreath, etc over the outside light fixture and be able to plug it in. It would be a money maker for you if marketed correctly. I know I would buy quite a few.

When porch lights are on it doesn't activate. If you turn the porch lights off to activate the timer , when you turn them back on it confuses the timer. A clocktype timer is m,uch better
