Toddleroo’s StepSafe Auto-Close Gate, Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The gate looks great. Nice simple design, height is great, easy to put together for the most part. I have a couple of issues. With the extension pole, I cannot get the tension knob and bolt to fit in the doorway due to the extension pin that connects the gate with the extension pole. It blocks part of the hole the bolt gets inserted to. Without the extension pole, it doesn't feel as secure because the bolts are almost maxed out to fit my doorway. I have a 32" doorway. It would be fine if you don't have a toddler pushing on it. It would be good for animals.

It was easy to install, sturdy and is simple enough for adults to get through with one hand (especially when helping a little one down the stairs). The style is sleek and matches the decor in our home. Most importantly it keeps our LO safe and eases my mind as a busy mom.

It is a shorter baby gate, coming to our 2 year olds shoulders, so it's the perfect gate for toddlers or small dogs. The latching mechanism is very secure, to the point it can be difficult to open and close sometimes but it definitely does the job for keeping little ones where they are supposed to be! Overall it's very sturdy and the perfect little baby gate if you are looking for a smaller option. The only negative, is you do have to bend down to open this. For this reason I might prefer something taller that would also keep our larger dogs contained!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a sturdy gate but a little hard to use. I found that it can be difficult to open. I had to wiggle it a bit to get it to unlock. I didn't find it to be the best design for ease of use (would be difficult to open if holding a baby). It does look nice in the house though. And it's possible that it just has a learning curve to use.

It fits perfectly and installation was a breeze. We did 3D print stronger mounts though because the other ones ripped out of the wall after some use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're really happy with this gate. It feels sturdy, secure and well made. I love the auto close feature for added peace of mind. It's easy to use and the size works well for a standard door way or stair case areas. Right now we're keeping it as our backup gate or for when we transition our little guy to a toddler beds. Once he has that freedom to get out of bed on his own, we plan to install it upstairs to help keep him safely away from the staircase. We tried it out and it fits perfectly on our stairs and setup is easy peasy. Definitely a great gate to have ready for that next stage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The North States StepSafw Auto-Close Gate is a good bat gate. The material is sturdy and not to heavy. It was simple to assemble following the instructions. Only thing that was a little frustrating was that you had to take apart the swing back hatch and rescrew it to the frame. Other gates I have used already had this piece attached so that was different. But overall it does the job!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to set up just took me a bit to get the right tension for the lock to line up. Love that if open all the way it will stay open as we don't always need it closed but also that it automatically swings shut when you need it to.

It is easy for parents to use and difficult for small children to figure out (which is a good thing). Install is easy, this gate is stable once installed properly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Toddleroo baby gate looks great in my home; we have black spindles and it just fits visually. I love the individual tension parts since we have varying widths due to our decorative newel posts. Assembly was easy enough, but I don't trust my own hand strength enough to hand tighten for the correct tension. Unfortunately, the locking mechanism at the bottom of the gate (to catch the gate and hold it in place at the floor) fell off. There are two plastic nubs on the piece to hold into the gate and one of the nubs is completely gone. It arrived that way. I will be reaching out to the company for a replacement piece. We have plans to keep this at the bottom of the stairs - the directions state that you do not need to screw the mounting cups in place at the bottom of the stairs (just at the top), but I would feel much more comfortable screwing the cups in place regardless of where it is set in place. It comes with sticky mounting tape, but it's so flimsy, I can't see it holding up against a determined toddler.
