[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] SO MY BACKYARD HAS A FIELD BEHIND IT SO I GET MICE NOW AND THEN, I PUT THE GLUE TRAP BEHIND SOME FURNITURE. WELL I WILL TELL YOU THIS IS JUST NOT FOR MICE OR RATS, I CAUGHT QUITE A FEW DIFFERENT THINGS FROM SPIDERS TO ROACHES, I LOVE THIS GLUE TRAP, I FELT LIKE I JUST RID MY HOME OF MANY LITTLE INSECTS I NEVER SEE. WITH NO SPRAYS OR CHEMICALS, HAVE TO BUY MORE FOR SURE
I had previously bought the Tomcat Bait stations but the mouse did not touch those. I bought these glue traps and I woke up to find the mouse stuck on the pad and I was able to dispose of it. This product really works and they worked on the first night that I bought them. The only issue is if you are squeamish, it may be a little difficult to pick the glue trap up to dispose of it but this product is well worth it.
Bought a cheap fixer upper home with cash about a year and a half ago. Slowly progressed into making it a livable space, in a very convenient area. Problem is its a very congested area and i see many rodents in all shapes and sizes. Heard scratching in my walls one night laying in bed. Researched, bought traps lined all my door ways downstairs with 3 of these traps every night before bed. In the first 3 weeks of doing this every night, ive caught 14 mice. a problem I DONT have is disposing of them, i pop them with a professional grade pellet gun and throw em away. My poor girlfriend cant even be in the house when one is caught and screaming lol! so keep that in mind, it dies via starvation, suffocation or (in my case) by your own doing.
i bought both the mice and rat size glue boards, and i purposefully bought this style and kind because the green background is an amazingly helpful feature. when you put glue boards down, you don't always remember where they are not to mention they are usually in some dark attic space. i found the green feature to be such a fantastic little addition -- that i ordered 20 boxes of these! so-- after putting them down. a day later, i had caught a mouse. i wish it had stepped on the less expensive mouse trap but no there it was in the big rat trap which is about 2x the price! but... i guess one less mouse is good, and it costs what it costs. i put more rat traps down -- in hopes of catching, if any, rats. i had sealed up a hole i didn't even know existed, found and cleaned tons of rat dirt, and did not know if they were all gone. well... two days later i see the rat glue trap all moved, all messed, and all... furry. clearly some rat had stepped in this but clearly he also fought it off leaving only a furry, gross green glue trap behind. i think in order for these to work, the rat can't be TOO big or strong. or it has to put its nose in the glue. but clearly, whatever was here fought its way off and got away. ; - ( i'll continue to use them, but also back it up with the basic standard snap traps. i think in the war against rodents, more is better. so-- i'd recommend these as PART of your trapping solution, but not as the only piece!
Bought this glue trap because of all the good reviews, but was sadly disappointed once i used it. I baited and set the glue trap. When I returned to check the glue trap, I found the trap had been moved and the mouse/rat had escaped from the glue pad. The only reason I say it escaped is because there was a chunk of fur on the trap. I bought four boxes of glue traps because of the reviews, but was quickly disappointed.
Bought 1 week ago. Heard rat behind entertainment center again. Open package and put one behind Christmas tree next to it. Pulled one end out and pushed other in to encourage rat to go that way. Sat there and waited, about 10mins later had a rat flipping out! In I believe what was 20mins while I was looking for something I could safely remove rat and trap with it got quite too long so left tree skit and rat took off under couch! Other glue trap out and snap trap at each end of entertainment center! Had my rat, problem was solved, but he got away so problem remains, but terrified and probably harder to catch now! For mice I could see this working, but I got set that says rat size and says rats on the package on what it works for.
In a corner near my front door, I have seen large amounts of rat/ mouse droppings overtime. I initially tried the sprays, which worked for a short period of time but seems like I needed to reapply once a week to keep them away. I bought these fancy glue traps expecting to catch the whole family, but unfortunately I was greatly disappointed the next morning to find one trap empty, and the other completely covered in droppings sans rat.
Will not catch any rat they're strong critters and the glue is no match for their strength. I picked up a pack of these as well as 2 wooden rat traps. I placed the glue one closest to wear I've seen the rat and baited the center with 3 honey roasted peanuts. It moved and got away from the trap figuring it'd have to combat some sticky footing to get my treat offering; they are as smart as you can expect for a rat!! I put a wooden trap about 4' from the glue trap that it first encountered and he got taken out so fast! I stuck the the top/tip of my baby finger in the glue and it came away freer than marshmallow paste there's barely enough resistance for a mouse!
NOT rat size, as stated on box I ordered!
I bought one of these and never again. What a inhumane way even if they are dirty creatures. The one I caught must of struggled enough to get off and had a heart attack. I set up the second one and this mouse was struggling to get loose except he had hair pulled off him as he was trying to get away he left his leg and foot behind. Never again. I couldnt do it. I use only snap ones now at least it was quick and done.
