I got this clock for my son whose 18mo. the mornings it's to dark (and winter is coming) he gets really upset whem he wakes up. So I figured he was needing a nightlight but didn't really want to get a -night light- if you know what I mean. I also thought somthing that would show him when I'll get him would be useful since the sun will be coming up much later in the winter. (I will NOT get up before 6am unless somthing is wrong and he is an early bird XD) So I found this and thought it would be perfect! he's a little young but in a few weeks I'm sure it will click that the sun means it's okay to wake up. I choose to leave the digital numbers on as well since they are not in the way. Eventually this will help him understand the time too! it has TEN brightness settings which is awesome. it does come with a little book. it's neat it has English and Spanish for the story. but personally I would have preferred just english that way the words could be bigger and easier to read. it is a soft book (which my son is already munching on right now lol) don't mind as I thought this was a fair price for the clock let alone an additional book. super easy and extremely clear instructions on how to setup. I'm sure a toddler nearing 3 could learn to do it on their own with some practice! just wish it had a battery option as all the outlets are reachable since my sons room is also the playroom. so I have to unplug everything each morning. thankfully the clock remembers all the settings and I just have to adjust the actual time when I plug it back in. which isn't to hard thanks to the clocks simplicity. highly, highly recommended! nothing else met all the criteria I was looking for except this clock!
We have tried other clocks that light up at certain times of the day but they didn't work nearly as well as this one! We love that the kids can look at any time to see if it's time to wake or stay in bed. The added feature of the disappearing stars the closer it gets to wake time is also super helpful for our 4 year old. Great product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We have super struggled with night/day time mixups with our little dude, and having a tangible, color representative item that can show him exactly when it's time to get up (even though he can't tell time yet) has been great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I got this a week ago and so far it's been great with letting my 2 1/2 year old know when he should be sleeping and when it's time to wake up. Wevetbeen having a hard time with him understanding when it time to go to slee and he's sit in his crib and play, but now he has a visual reminder and knows that the moon means no playing. I really wanted this because my two and three year old consistently wake up around 6 or so and wake all through the night. I was hoping a clock like this would keep them in bed and until a more decent time. It is easily programmed and the instructions are simple. Can be used for nap times even which is pretty great. My kids think it is a fun and love the little sun and star design. I do think in time, when they fully understand not getting up when the star is on the clock or while it is blue, that it will work perfectly. I think it is a cute and great little children's clock. We had this clock for 2 nights/days now and my 3 year old daughter absolutely loves it. She understands the concept of it and says"Sun is down,Moon is up" every time she goes to bed. Even if she wakes before"Sun is up" she just stays in bed and cuddles with her teddy. She feels like she is in control and makes her feel like a big girl. The little book that comes with it is quite durable and easy to hold and "read" by my daughter. She loves how the clock is illustrated in the book so it makes her feel so special. As a parent I have to say this is a great device for littles who do not understand grown up world yet. Set up is really easy and instructions are easy to follow. Love that I can adjust or turn off brightness since my daughter sleeps in pitch dark. Alarm sound is not too loud or obnoxious so down the road it will be easy for my daughter to use. It can be used for grow up wake up alarm, if need be. Design is very sleek and can blend in in any kind of room decor. The only thing I would like it to have is option for batteries when family is taking a road trip and for convenience of it. I would definitely recommend this product to parents of toddlers. Started using this with my 2yo who was getting confused on day/night with time changes. It's simple enough for her to understand to lay in bed until "the sun comes up" and if its stars are still out to stay tucked in. It's still a work in progress, but this definately helps her have a visual! It has a soft glow that doesn't seem to bother her either. Would recommend for your littles who are able to get in and out of bed on their own! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
That is amazing clock for kids,at first of all it is easy to use for kids, and kids can learn how to use clock it is entertaining for them. They can adjust night light and also bedtime and nap times, fun for them to watch stars moving. It also has a digital clock option. But the most amazing part is that has bedtime story book included,my kids loves playing it every night. If you want you child to learn how to use alarm clock that is the best option for them and easy to use it. I received this for free to review and I have mixed feelings about it. I love the concept. I have been looking at several for awhile, trying to decide if it was worth it. This clock is small, so it won't take up a lot of room on the night stand. Plus it looks like a clock. However the time is really small, I'm putting this in my toddlers room....I want the numbers big. The clock switches between blue and yellow. Blue for night and power saving, yellow for wakeup. The yellow is great, everything is easy to see. The blue, not so much. It strained my eyes when I was trying to set it up(and it makes the white clock look yellowed...me being picky, I know) The blue is also very hard to read when the sun shines on it. In my child's room, it was very hard to find a good spot that also had a plug nearby. Set up. I must have plugged and unplugged this thing 6 times while trying to set it up. (That was the easiest way to get back to the menu) Don't set this up sleep deprived. If you hit the buttons too many times, you end up activating and unactiving the clock, changing things you don't want to, etc. The story it comes with is cute, but it's printed on paper, not cardboard, so it's not toddler proof. It's written in English and Spanish on the same page, pretty cool. However the print is small and not bold, so it makes it hard to read in a dimmed room. I ordered this clock through a third party vendor (Ships for Free LLC) and before it shipped, I received an email stating that the item was damaged. They refunded me the unit price (though not the sales tax, I had to contact Walmart to get that back) but never made an attempt to send another one. Now the item is only available for $7 more than what I tried to buy it from initially. Walmart needs to do better vetting their third party vendors to make sure they comply with minimum customer service standards.
