Tom's AP & Whitening Toothpaste Peppermint FF

I found Tom's about a year ago and immediately fell in love, but I'm so sad you switched to a new taste! As soon as I began brushing my teeth this morning I thought I had bought the wrong toothpaste. The new taste reminds me of crest pro health. I absolutely loved the original peppermint formula so please bring it back!!! Also - the new ingredients added!? Are those safe for you?

New Great Taste, what a lie. Can't stand the new formula. It has a horrible chemical after taste, like I just chewed a mouthfull of mint and splenda packets. The whole point of brushing your teeth is to get the sweet off your teeth, not put more on. It's almost as bad as the time I accidentally mad a tuna sandwich with coleslaw dressing instead of mayonnaise. 🤮 Please I beg of you go back to the original! It's the only toothpaste my family could stand that didn't taste horrible or have chemicals out the wazoo. We've been getting this brand for the last 20+ years don't make me find a different option now.

New Great Flavor recipe is horrible! leaves you with a nasty artificial fake sweet mouth feel that lingers. Apparently it's the new sweetener rebaudioside, it's awful. I've been using this toothpaste for over 30 years, this is the worst recipe change since. We don't need it to be sweet!!! This change really sucks. More ingredients, less natural. You are loosing long time loyal customers with this change. Not worth it!

I started using Tom's after graduation. My wife and I started using Tom's after we got married. Our kids started using Tom's once they were ready to. It's over 12 years. We are all upset now. As you already know from here and other merchandise websites, this is a bad decision to change the flavor! It is not too late to change it back before we switch to another brand.

AWFUL NEW TASTE. I am appalled that Tom's has changed the formula on this toothpaste, it tastes horrendous. I bought a new box and immediately noticed the change in flavor from the previous tube. After looking at the tube I noticed it said “new great taste” on it, and they added ingredients that give it an artificial/chemical taste. It had me gagging while brushing my teeth. I am DONE with this brand. I can't stomach using it again after they've changed the formula and added all these extra ingredients. This was my favorite toothpaste before they made these changes. Now I absolutely hate it!!!

I am beyond disappointed by the "New Great Taste." It is truly devastating to have a product you have used every day for the last 20 years become unrecognizable. I would have been a lifelong customer had it not been for this disastrous change (did no one think to do a focus group with loyal customers??). I do feel validated by the many commenters on this page that have had similar gag-inducing effects. Tom's of Maine, I beg of you, please bring back the original formula! Also if you have any boxes of the original lying around in a warehouse, I will gladly take them off your hands...

I've been using this toothpaste for years and the “New Great Taste” is AWFUL! The xylitol is overpowering and it no longer tastes like a natural toothpaste. It tastes like it's full of chemicals. There's an awful aftertaste. The formula's very different (see pics w/the descriptions). Disappointed to have bought the 3-pack we usually get. Will not be buying this again. It's terrible!

I have loved this toothpaste up until recently when the formula was changed to include new and unnecessary ingredients such as artificial sweeteners. These additional ingredients do nothing to improve the effectiveness of the product and only make it taste horrible. The new toothpaste is overly sweet and also the sodium lauryl sulfate has been removed. In my experience, this makes it feel less effective at cleaning my teeth. I am so disappointed and I will never buy this product again.

Unfortunately, this toothpaste has changed and is no longer the perfect, fresh, and minty toothpaste I'd come to love over the past 30 years. When I first tried it out, I had to do a double take to make sure the toothpaste tube wasn't counterfeit. The taste is that terrible. Overly sweet, synthetic, and a texture that's gag-inducing. Tom's, there are so many of us that love your old formulation. Please, please consider bringing it back. Losing this product that feels so quintessential to your line and brand as a whole is heartbreaking. Thanks for all the years of great toothpaste, and hoping for many more 🙏.

Please go back to the old formula! Whatever was added and changed is causing severe lip irritation. I chose Toms initially because it didn't cause reactions like other toothpastes Ive used and this might be worse than any others I've used previously. Flavor is way too strong and texture is very gritty
