First off, who knew there was a training toothpaste?! This is an excellent idea!! Doctors will tell you not to let the tiny ones brush their teeth until they are older because of some of the chemicals in toothpaste. However, this "Training" Toothpaste is an awesome alternative to nothing and gets the kids in the healthy habit of brushing! The suggested age on the product is 3-24 months. I tested it on 50 month old. The first thing he noticed was the "gator" on the tube. What child doesn't like to see an animal on their toothpaste? When I opened the bottle to put some of the paste on the toothbrush, I saw more of a gel. It is clear and a bit less thick than an original toothpaste. It smelled fruity. I put just a little drop and it covered the entire child sized Tom's toothbrush I was using. I do suggest that you use the Ton's toothbrush because it is smaller than your average child sized toothbrush. Since using conventional toothpaste on a baby is not recommended they just don't make that size toothbrush. It's made just like a regular toothbrush only smaller and softer for your little one. The biggest selling point would be that this is all natural and has nothing in it that can hurt your baby. So it's healthy, safe, and tastes great. I liked the fruity flavor of the toothpaste and so did my little helper. We both give the toothpaste and the toothbrush 2 thumbs up! It's never too soon to start your babies on a lifetime healthy habit.
Tom's of Maine Toddler Fluoride-Free Natural Mild Fruit Flavor Training Toothpaste is an awesome product for those who are concerned about using natural products for their kids and still interested in quality! From the get-go, you can see that you definitely are getting quality for the price, while still saving money! You get quite a bit for the money, with 1.75 oz in the bottle. This is quite a bit more than other compared name brand toddler toothpaste. I especially like that it is not foaming and that there are no artificial colors, flavors, fragrance, or preservatives! It isn't the best tasting, but not being artificially flavored makes it more ‘natural' fruit flavored. My toddler does not mind the taste! It smells like grape, which is very pleasant. As with most concerned parents, I would worry about if it safe for swallowing because toddlers have not developed the habit of spitting it out just yet. It is safe if swallowed and fluoride-free. It's also very easy to use and has a nice dispensing top and easy to open cap that keeps it clean. I have never used Tom's of Maine products, but I do see myself buying their products in the future because I really like what the company stands for and the product itself! I thought about looking up what each ingredient truly was, and thought about all the work that might take, but noticed that they actually “share every ingredient, its purpose, and its source” on their website! They break it down per ingredient and where it came from, in detail. That's helpful and nice! Then, when you consider the price, you should consider that they are putting “10% of their profits to human and environmental goodness”! I would suggest this toothpaste for someone with a toddler in an instant!
Tom's of Maine Natural Toddler Training Toothpaste believes what's inside matters. The new Toddler Training toothpaste is fluoride-free with no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. This clear gel gently cleans little teeth and gums without SLS or propylene glycol. And toddlers will love brushing with the great-tasting, mild fruit flavor again and again. Easy-to-use, no-mess dispensing top. Safe if swallowed. Specially formulated for 3 to 24 months. My friend used this product with her sixteen month old son who seemed to love the taste of this toothpaste. She did, however, think the price is a bit high for 1.75oz tubes (they are pretty small). It's fluoride-free (If you aren't aware of the problem with fluoride toothpaste for children, read the small print on popular brands. It warns against letting children swallow it. But children will swallow anything sweet, won't they?) She loved the fact; this product contains "no artificial flavors, sweeteners, preservatives or dyes" and also "no gluten, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate." “We have plenty of fluoride in the water we drink, so we want to stay away from any extra fluoride in our toothpastes. We've tried several of the Tom's natural toothpastes, including this one for toddlers, and generally like their products and product philosophy a lot.”
My daughter got her first tooth at 9 months. She just turned 1 and now has 3 teeth. I asked my dentist what I should be doing to keep her teeth clean. She told me to give my baby fluoride water and fluoride drops. I personally don't think that you should consume fluoride but I still wanted my babies teeth to be clean. I was so happy when I saw this toothpaste. It is for babies 3 to 24 months. It has a great fruity smell to it. And best of all, it's fluoride free. I also like that it is safe if swallowed, however, I do try to get it out of my child's mouth with a wet wash cloth when I'm done brushing. I'm still perfecting my way of brushing her teeth, but I am so glad that there is a toothpaste that is not dangerous to my baby.
I tried this infant/toddler toothpaste as I have radiation damage to my mouth from cancer treatments and very sensitive to toothpaste flavors. The toothpaste comes in attractive little tube (1.75 oz), almost the length of the palm of my hand, so there is quite a bit - should last a few months. The toothpaste is a clear gel and is smooth, not gritty. It is the mild fruit flavor it advertises. I am unable to use adult toothpaste because many have a strong mint or cinnamon flavors. I am unable to even use some of the child's toothpaste, however, Tom's Fluoride free mild fruit flavor is very, very mild and will not be too strong for your baby's mouth ( or for an adult with sensitivity). Another great thing is that there are no artificial flavors, Fluoride, colors or preservatives, so if your baby swallows some, it will not harm them. Ages on tube is: 3-24 months. Ingredients: glycerin, porpanediol, hydrated silica, water, xylitol, benzyl alcohol, carrageenan, natural flavor, citric acid. Made in Maine, USA I would recommend this toothpaste ! Great to start your babies off with this mild, pleasant flavored toothpaste. Another great fact: This is a made in USA product (Maine) .
My 3 year old daughter usually likes the types of toothpaste that have lots of flavor, so I wasn't sure what she would think of this Tom's of Maine toddler toothpaste because of the "mild" fruit flavor it says it has. But the flavor was strong enough for her to like it, yet still very mild. I like that because usually when toothpastes have too much flavor kids want to just eat it like candy and we are really working on not swallowing the toothpaste. Teaching a 3 year old to spit is hard, and this natural fluoride-free tooth paste is a great starter for learning. I like that I don't have to worry about her swallowing too much fluoride, as I know it is not good for you to consume a lot. I wish it came in a larger sized tube, because when brushing your little ones teeth two times a day, especially if you have more than one little one, 1.75 oz can be used quickly, but it is enough to last a while. I even tried this paste myself just to see what it was like, and the one thing I do not like about it is that it feels like it leaves residue in your mouth. I was able to get the residue feeling off by mouthwash, but your little one probably wont be able to use that. A quick water rinse helps a lot though, and could also aid your little one in learning how to spit. Overall we are happy with the product.
This toothpaste is perfect for toddlers. The mild fruit flavor is enjoyable without being too strong, which makes brushing much easier. The quality is excellent, and I appreciate that it's fluoride-free and made with safer ingredients. It leaves breath fresh and teeth clean without any harsh taste. Great value for the price, and the size is convenient for everyday use. Overall, a reliable and gentle option that works well for young children. Highly recommend for parents looking for a safe and effective training toothpaste.
Tom's of Main has been known for years for low toxins in their toothpaste. I use an app by the EWG that indicates the toxic levels in foods and personal care items & tom's of Maine have always had great ratings. In addition you can go on www.tomsofmaine.com to look at each ingredient, its purpose and the source. I Love that there is no Fluoride and so it is safe for your child to swallow. The toothpaste is a clear gel and does not foam. It is Gluten free and SLS-free. I have two children that tried this. The mild fruit flavor taste like grape. My son loves it and has been excited to brush his teeth with this flavor. My daughter on the other hand does not like grape and does not like the taste. If this were a flavor both my kids enjoyed I would have given 5 stars. Overall the quality and product ingredients are approved!
This is a great toothpaste to use for when children are beginning to brush their teeth. We have always made sure to start brushing our kids teeth as soon as their first tooth comes in, just to get them accustomed to the routine. This toothpaste is recommended for ages 3-24 months. It comes in a wild fruit flavor which does not taste bad (I tried it myself). It is also fluoride-free so it is safe if swallowed. We use it just to teach our children to spit it out, but they have also swallowed it before spitting it out and it is safe. It also contains no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, which is quite impressive considering how many products now contain them. It comes in a clear, gel form and is really simple to use. I would greatly recommend this to any parent with young children.
The Tom's of Maine Toddler Fluoride-Free Natural Mild Fruit Flavor Training Toothpaste, came in a tube holding 1.75 ounces. It is a clear gel instead of a paste. It has a mild fruity taste. My grandson did not like the taste at first. He made a funny face when he tasted it and said yuck (he's 3). The toothpaste is for children 3 to 24 months but I thought I would try it out on him anyway since he still likes to swallow the toothpaste rather than spit it out. I love the fact that it is all natural so there is no artifical flavors, colors or preservatives so it is safe if it is swallowed. Also, Tom';s of Maine does not test any of their products on animals. The tooithpaste has a slight rough feel to it so it helps the kids scrub their teeth good. As for a training toothpaste, it is great. As for a toddler, they do not like the taste too much. The no mess dispensing nozzle is great and i also love that it has no fluoride in it. Great training toothpaste Tom's of Maine. I gave it 3 stars because of the taste. My grandson loves the alligator on it.
