This is a great little portable chess game (I have only used it for chess so far and have not tried the other games available on it), perfect for travel or if you're spending some time in a waiting area. Personally, I loathe smart phones, so a good book or a game like this are both great options in such cases. This unit is sturdy, the screen clarity and touch response are very good, and the battery life has been excellent. Some might find the old-school LCD chess piece symbols a little difficult to differentiate at first, but they are easy to get used to. The LCD symbols, sound effects, menu structure and general game play appear to be very similar to some of the older Millennium Chess products, albeit with a touchscreen rather than the touch-sensitive board area. Perhaps because of this, I found the unit very easy to use, but regardless, the included booklet describes the game options and operation thoroughly and clearly, in my opinion. The stylus that comes with the unit is perfectly adequate and fits nicely into a built-in holder in the back of the housing, so it is always there when you need it. The included booklet claims the ELO is up to around 1700. The built-in classic chess game library includes: 20 games featuring Deep Thought/Deep Blue, and 50 each classic games featuring Fischer, Karpov, Kasparov and Kramnik. These can be excellent for study. Finally, although the unit seems solidly built and the touchscreen has proven scratch-resistant with reasonable use, the Lowepro Tahoe CS20 zipper case is just about the perfect size for this if you want to give it a little extra protection for travel. Overall, I have been very happy with this game.
