At first, I wasn't sure if it would be useful. After a few days of using it, this thing is great. I like the fact that I can connect to the phone and just view it from there. I can move the scope around and just look down at the phone. It works great. The battery lasts a long time. I like the fact that it is simple to use. I was amazed at how far it works. I really enjoy using it.
Way better than I expected. I used this on a night hog hunt. Raccoons, skunks, pigs all light up and it's easy to determine an animal is around. At 400 yards I could determine something was out there. Within a few hundred yards I could determine the species. Within a hundred yards could definitely determine the species. I was pleasantly surprised. My hunting buddies are buying. It also works in daytime. I could see cattle at about 1000 yards.
After using this product , I was so impressed I ended showed friends and they went out and bought four more of them. Great value for the money. I was most impressed with the ability to view from my phone.
March 4, 2026 Received my TOPDON TS004 exactly as advertised. Brand new unit with accessories and user manual included. Used the USB-C cable provided to charge the TS004, took 3-1/2 hours to fully charge. Performs beyond my expectations. Exceptional quality. 4-star rating only because the view finder brightness cannot be controlled/reduced which causes a temporary "night blindness" after use that clears up after a minute or two. I wear sunglasses (LOL) which stops the post-use night blindness. Too early to tell if any battery problems or operational glitches may occur. For now I highly recommend the TOPDON TS004 (was on sale $75 off at time of purchase)... PS It can see through small animals LOL
it is an economical option for those wanting a thermal monocular for seeing wildlife at night. It is easy to use and offers a lot of features (like photos and videos you download to your phone). On the one hand, I bought it even though it was more expensive than what I wanted to pay (over $400 w taxes and shipping). But on the other hand, the best thermal viewers were over $2000 and I wasn't anywhere close to affording them.
This item is not what was advertised on the Walmart website. It shows and labels it as the Topdon TS005 but it is the Topdon TS004 that they are actually selling. At times the image is the 005 but when you click on the item it goes to the 004. Another customer reported the same thing after I ordered mine. I called customer service and was told they would give me a refund if I wanted to return it. I knew the item was a great deal with the price well below other stores. The TS004 is good and I will keep it but Walmart needs to correct their website. As of today, 3 WEEKS AFTER I REPORTED IT, it is still showing the image of the TS005 but the description is of the TS004.
i really thought it would be a little better quality than what it is. With in the first week of having it the diopter adjustment knob fell off and i can't get ahold of anyone to send it back. It is useless without that diopter adjustment knob it can't be adjusted so everything i am looking at is blurry.
my husband got his product and it did not work and he got on the app and ask for someone to call him well someone did the next day and they knew everything about our order and ended up scaming us out of $80
False advertisement. listing had topdon ts005. But received a topdon ts004. returning monocular to store to get my money back. Walmart needs to check there vendors out !!! Now I need to return extra batteries and charger to Amazon.
This barely worked one day and then never turned on again. Even after a full charge. Got white lines noise. even the first day it worked the optics were not that great. I know this is an entry level thermal but not worth the $400. Stay away.
