[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This computer is fast, expandable and well built. The Dolby speakers are fantastic! We were able to plug in the SSD from our old laptop to transfer data. It was plug and play, real simple. We definitely do recommend this computer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Lenovo laptops for work for many years and now that I'm working as an independent consultant and decided that my home PC wasn't adequate, I decided that Lenovo was the only brand to buy for work. I've purchased other brands for home use, and even though they get less use, they aren't as durable. I'm very happy with the laptop I chose. The keyboard and touchpad in particular are better on the Lenovo. The keyboard layout is well thought out. The paging, arrow, and PrtScr keys which I use frequently are all close together under my right hand. It's surprising how much this improves keying speed and accuracy. The lettering on the keys is easier to read in low light. Fast, nice display, a little heavy but I believe that because the hardware components are better. It's an all around solid laptop for business use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An awesome mobile workstation. Performs my rendering in great speed, takes moments to start up and so far great. If I have one annoyance is that if I have to ratchet down the performance of the workstation due to the SUPER loud fans when operating in performance mode. Its annoying, but anyway if I am rendering or converting videos, I can turn it up and walk away... far away. Still I love it so far
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] P53 with i7-9850H and RTX 5000 GPU replaced most of my hardware, and I couldn't be happier about it. At work, it's an IT-managed BYOD workstation for coding and ML. At home, it's a nice 4K gaming rig. OLED screen is amazing, LTE works fine with T-Mobile SIM. It's a bit heavy by modern standards, but given that it replaced not only a laptop and a tabled w/stylus but also two full tower PCs, <6 lb is nothing to complain about. Its 230W brick is bulky, but I carry around a smaller, lighter 170W one, and it seems to work fine when not pushing the GPU. To keep work and home stuff separate, I added a second NVMe storage device, installed two copies of Windows 10 - Windows 10 Enterprise IT image and Windows 10 Professional MSDN image that assumed the Lenovo's key, and used Bitlocker to secure them independently. The only issue I've run into was that the OS-es LTE drivers disagreed over the modem's firmware for a while, but at some point they stopped flashing it every time the machine rebooted so I assume it's all good now. It worked fine regardless. Because of the setup above, I couldn't use Lenovo's image and install clean OS, then used Windows Update and installed a few drivers from the support site. All the hardware works fine, and I don't care for most of Lenovo's "value add software" anyway. X-Rite calibration software has been able to download the color profiles from Lenovo's web service, so that wasn't lost either. Took a few retries though, and it keeps complaining about not supporting the external 4k monitor, a minor annoyance. I just use the Default profile though, not sure it's necessary at all. Windows Hello with face ID works fine, very convenient. Adding the NVMe was very easy, make sure to get the right size though, PCIe M.2 2280. Upgrading RAM to 64GB was a bit tricky because it required a special keyboard removal tool Lenovo neither sells nor includes with the laptop. One would think they'd splurge with a $5K machine... Two small screwdrivers worked fine though. Not running into any thermal issues, although it does get loud under max load. "Best Performance" (under Battery taskbar icon) is required for uncapping both CPU and GPU clock. It's too aggressive and loud for CPU performance, so have to toggle between that and "Better Performance", when it's silent on idle. Meh. Overall, very happy with my purchase!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this laptop for its power for video rendering and I can say I am extremely Satisfied. I can even play a few games from time to time with out a problem. Updating all drivers and software is fast and easy from Lenovo. However my only gripe is that it does not have a Sata cable for 2.5 hard-drives.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The P53 is a nicely build machine, very confident for the lasting of the device. The combination of 9th gen Intel i7 and the RTX3000 made it a tough machine for work. The screen, the keyboard and the pad are great (I'm a 5 years long MacBookPro user).
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had my P53 Thinkpad for a few weeks. So far I love it. I'm very impressed with the design of the charging cord. With other laptops I have had issues with connect and breakage at the charging port. This laptop has more of a solid, stable connection for charging. I like the fact it has a light that shows if Caps or Number lock is engaged. I selected this specific model for the added 10 key in the key board. One feature I didn't even know I would want but am loving is the finger print pad. It makes it so easy to get started. I really enjoy having the operating system and my programs on the SSD. It's my first time to have a SSD and I love the speed it adds to working on my laptop. Everything gets booted up much more quickly. In addition we added a regular hard drive for storage of data. I'm hoping that this laptop last us a long time. That will be the true test of what I think of its value. So many seem to only be made to last 2 years. It takes a lot of effort to transfer your programs and data so often.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You have to give access to Lenovo to your emails and personal contacts in order to receive updates. I am not pleased with this requirement of Lenovo equipment ownership. Otherwise it seems to be a good product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice and powerful. Did my own upgrade to 128GB of ram and it is a perfect boost for some of the most sophisticated Data Science models. Battery life is nice. Few drawbacks -- the ports are all on one side only -- not as convenient. keyboard is not lighted. Otherwise a powerhouse.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this laptop for my husband to use in the office and for his gaming. Works great so far, no issues running games or office software. Only complaint is the touchpad, which has been finicky a couple of times - not moving the cursor when in use, but he usually uses a mouse anyways so not a deal breaker!
