This was a gift for my husband. He absolutely Love it!!!! It is so handy and perfect for all his jobs!!! Highly Recommended!
I like the low price and quality of it and the work tray under the seat. Also I like that this seat fits my seat well enough that it is very comfortable for low level jobs.
great price for a good bit of kit, sturdy and well worth the price
Love it! I have been detailing cars since I was in highschool and when it comes to wheels and tires this bad boy is a game changer 100% Right out of the box this was easy to assemble, besides me putting the seat on backwards initally! Always look at the picture of the product on the box if you are not sure how the end result should look! I had all the hardware needed to get the seat properly installed and I have it a test seat with no issues at all. I also have to mention how I like the build in sections under the seat to hold tools, chemicals, or nuts and bolts if needed. I found the little wheels to work very well on the smooth surface of the interior of my garage best but the wheels did hold up fine on more of the tougher texture on my driveway. Like I said this bad boy allowed me to spend extra time and arm on my wheels versus crouching down and feeling rushed. The seat cushion is comfortable enough for my behind to sit on! I liked that I was able to wheel around my car entirely and not have to stand up. I am about 160 lbs and 6,1" to give you and idea. Overall I love this little stool and will continue to use it to clean my wheels and tires!
As I age it's getting harder and harder to work near the garage floor. The Torin Big Red Rolling Creeper Seat has become one of my favorite garage tools. The seat comes neatly stowed in a small box. The packaging is surprisingly good, as are the assembly nstructions. Necessary tools include two box wrenches (or a nut driver and/or socket wrench and/or adjustable wrench. There's a supplied hex key. Assembly is simple: there are four steps in the directions. Two of them have been done before shipping. The remaining two (attaching the seat supports and the seat) are most easily done on a work table. Don't forget to check the tightness of the wheel bolts. Now I'm able to scoot around my vehicles when checking tire pressure, changing oil, polishing the lower third of the machines, etc. I'm in stodgy-old-guy heaven! This creeper seat is a welcome addition to my garage; I'll get a lot of use out of it.
Wheels could be smoother. It's difficult to move on rough driveway. Works great to service marine out boards
Here are three things that I like about this particular unit: 01) First of all, the 1-7/8" diameter casters, which come standard, are what are known in the industry either as food-service duty or surgical-supply duty casters. That means they are a great deal more resistant to grease, oil and solvents (like gasoline), than conventional casters. 02) Second, they did a really nice quality paint job on the square tubing. This was intended to provide more protection from the aforementioned, grease, oil and gasoline. 03) Third, there is a good two inches of foam padding underneath the upholstery. Here are three things that I didn't much care for: 04) If you are say, six feet tall and weight 200 pounds, and you are planning on using this unit for changing tires, it is just a tad too short for a man your size. This stool is only fifteen inches tall. Your standard office chair seat measures in at eighteen inches tall. Which means that, if you are planning on sitting on this stool for any length of time, you may wind up with one helluva stiff, sore, lower back. 05) I didn't much care for the company logo being printed on the face of the upholstery. I would much rather have had the advertising on the bottom (underside) of the accessory tray. 06) I do not care for shop equipment in safety red color. I would much rather have this stool come in either glossy medium gray or black. Overall, however, the Garage/Shop Creep Seat is still, a very good value for the money.
This Big Red garage creeper seat has saved me a lot of unnecessary movement. I tend to use it inside my house, as much as I do in the garage or shop. It's convenient when you have your tools move with you and to be able to just reach under the seat for things you need. It's strong, as I am a big guy, and it holds me up and rolls well with me. The color is nice and the emblem, but I like its versatility of it. What I don't like about it is that it is one fixed height. So whatever I'm working on has to be the height that the stool allows me to be. Wheels and breaks on the car were a whole lot easier with this stool, but you're not able to adjust the height for anything in the engine compartment. I know that if I were to be working on the engine that was outside the vehicle, This Big Red Creeper would make things a breeze. I like it and I'll bet that I'll be using it on projects that I have not imagined yet.
Reading the reviews for this makes me think I just got got one that slid past quality control. I've wanted one of these ever since my knees and back got old & arthritic. That said, this particular unit has some noticeable quality issues. The cushion is nice & thick, if not very tightly wrapped, but the staples are placed wildly & several had to be tapped in fully w/ a hammer. Also, all the wheels would not spin smoothly around horizontally. Spraying some lithium grease onto the ball bearings made it smoother, and noticeably quieter, rolling around on the floor. Finally, not a quality issue, but would like to see them add a lock to at least one of the front wheels.
This is a mediocre rolling seat for your garage. Assembly is required for this seat however, it is quite easy which took me about 10 minutes. You will need a screw driver and 2 wrenches to tighten everything after it is assembled. The caster wheels on this seat are hard plastic and rather small with an outside diameter of almost 2 inches and a width of about 3/4 of an inch. With the weight of a grown man on the seat it is rather difficult to roll around and change directions, especially if the floor has a rough surface such as a concrete driveway. The height of the seat is also rather low at 14.5 inches. This is the same height as a 5 gallon bucket you can get at a big box hardware store but feels much lower since you sink into the cushion but not into the bucket. The seat cushion is much more comfortable than sitting on a bucket though, if you don't mind being lower. Unfortunately, the height is a tad to low for me and strains my knees. The unit itself seems sturdy and well made utilizing square steel tubing. Unfortunately the paint was chipped on one of the pieces (see picture) which gives me doubt about the paint job. Hopefully this won't rust away. The tray on the bottom is made from cheap thin plastic and probably won't last long. Overall this is a functional garage seat that felt like it was made for a child and certainly didn't feel like it was the right size for me and didn't move very well with my weight on it. I probably wouldn't recommend this to another adult but this might be awesome for a smaller person.
