I bought this trimmer on June 9th or 10th of 2019. I live in South Dakota where Summer is roughly 4 months long and do the yard work once a week. I figure I used it no more than a total of 20 times last Summer. This Summer I used it twice and then it went dead....won't do anything. I've made sure my battery is being charged correctly and is holding it's charge. Pretty bummed as I thought TORO was a good brand.
My old one died and I needed to get a new one soon! Delivery was quick and the trimmer was in excellent condition.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lightweight and yet powerful and durable. I used one at work and did not have problems in several years. So I bought one for home use. Priced right. Only thing is you may want to get a second battery if you want long run time. Works long enough for me, I like a little rest.
Cordless trimmer - quality wise seems good. Easy to use. However, battery life was really poor. 20 minute into use, battery life was already down 2 bars. With in 40 minutes, battery died. if I want to use it for longer then 40 minutes, I will have to invest in another battery.
This trimmer does just as good a job as my older Toro one that needed a 100-ft. extension cord to cover my entire yard. However, the battery runs out after about 15 minutes and needs to be recharged. This can be quite inconvenient if and when large trimming jobs need to be done. A suggestion to Toro might be to offer a second battery at a special offer price in situations such as this.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm 50 and I've always hated weedeating because gas weedeaters are LOUSY! My mom bought one of these because she has AFIB and this one allows her to keep her lawn nice without the laborious task of 'trying to get a gas weedeater stared'. I was so impressed with it, that I bought one. I will NEVER buy another weedeater but this one.
Had the exact same trimmer for years and it is often my go to. Unfortunately to activate my old one seemed to be getting harder and harder, have to keep the trigger squeezed extremely tight to keep running. Thought the new one would solve that problem, but on it too I have to keep a tight grip to have it operating. I also have a Kobalt trimmer, as soon as I pull on the trigger, even slightly it is cutting weeds. I do have some wrist problems, so even tho I can say I really like the trimmer overall, I can't say it's a joy to operate.
This was a gift from a person who thought they knew more about lawn and yard equipment than I did. I would have bought a gas powered. Does ok for lite edging but not much as a weed eater. Auto feed line does not work properly and you must use the manual feed most of the time. Do not count on using this as a trimmer. Battery does not last long so make sure it is fully charged every time you use it or you will get half way through you job. If you have only a small area of walkway to edge this will probably work fine but I would recommend buying a more powerful battery or a gas.
The first time I tried to use it, the string broke and there wasn't any string visable. I had to take it apart to get more string to show in the string hole. Your instructions are quite terrible when it coms to how to use. (I have the Flex Force blower, snow blower and lawn mower and love them all.)
I love the power it has. I would prefer it had 2 wheels for more balance. I find it very wobbly. Also, the rocks and dirt fly up and hit me. I have to hold it at an angle that is a little uncomfortable. The guard should be adjustable so you can fit it to your needs. It should come with 2 batteries. That is key to me. I would recommend it highly. It works great, light weight which is important. Great tool. You just need to make a couple of changes and it would be absolutely perfect.
