I work from home, and I was having issues with my wifi extender. This was the best decision I made since my little office didn't have what I needed to connect.
Item arrived early. The instructions were easy to understand. I bought the kit to help my parents out with a better signal to their room from the main location where the wifi router is located. I ran some connectivity tests. I was amazed that the signal went through 3 subpanels over 100 feet away. What surprised me was when I took one of the adapters next door to my place on a different meter. I plugged it up, and I was able to stream a movie on my laptop. I got a faster speed than my wifi extender even though the "powerline LED" light was flashing. I don't know whether to be happy or concerned. Later, I will be buying more to test the security of the matter. I will figure out to add more security if needed. This product saved me from climbing into my parents' attic to run a cat 5e line and installing 2 ethernet wallplates.
Once you get this product you can forget wireless adapters. Powerline adapters blow them outta the water and this one in particular does. Since I've only bought this one I can't say it's the best on the market, but you won't be disappointed if you buy it. Another thing, I recommend this for a desktop more than a laptop.
This a great set especially since you can use both as receivers to expand an existing system. I didn't have to do anything but plug them in. NOT for Wireless. These need the Cat6 wire to work and will not work with another brand or if so, setting require tweaking beyond my level of expertise. I intended to get more but the sales guy at Fry's electronics told me after 3 the signal deteriorates rather quickly. So far with the 3 I have everything is working well.
Used this product over a wifi extender for a PS4. Had a full signal strength with the wifi but still got lag during online play this product cured my issue 98% of the time. It is always better to have a wired connection over wifi for online play. My router is on the other side of the house from the entertainment center if you dont want to run a network line under the house or thru the house this is best option out there period great product!
I bought the powerline adapter kit to fix the issue I was having with my Direct TV wireless internet connection. It seemed like the wifi connection either would not connect or would connect for a few days then say it was unavailable when I'd try to access on demand programming. After endless frustration, resets, and phone calls to customer service, I gave up. Direct TV's customer service best advice was to plug the internet cable directly into the box... No kidding! But that kind of defeats the purpose of the box being wifi capable. As the internet wiring is in the back of the house, a friend recommended powerline networking as a solution. The powerline adapter kit took less than 5 minutes to plug in, and the internet is up and running faster than the wifi ever was. I have not had any issues at all. Very happy with the product.
Simple to use and works as advertised, can't ask for much more than that It doesn't need to be complicated --it simply needs to work, and it does! Just plug and go.
I read a lot of reviews. great product, easy setup. it took me less than five minutes to set it up. I got speed that almost the same as hard wire connection. Very easy to setup. so far so good. I am happy with my purchase.
Will not even work in the united state due to electrical code on homes and buildings in the uk homes do not have multiple breakers for individual rooms the United States does and they have to be set up off the same breaker in order to work so its ultimately a complete waste of time and money to sell it in the United States because it will not work!
Very simple to use and plugs directly into the wall, but once you program the adapters, if you're not within a close range, like on the same floor, there is so much lag time that it's not worth the expense. My Wi-Fi adapter provides me uninterrupted internet.
